Using this technique, Kasumi gathers some water from the air and surrounding environment into one thousand long needles. She then directs them to a specific target at high speed, leaping backwards before impact so she doesn't get caught in the crossfire. While the needles do surround a target from all sides, they don't appear above the target, creating an escape route. Kasumi is able to perform this jutsu with one-handed seals, allowing her to pin an opponent's arm and attack while they cannot use any techniques themselves.

The Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique shapes a large amount of water into a giant, powerful dragon, which hits the opponent with formidable might, dealing physical damage. The ideal place to use it is near a body of water, but if the user's skill allows it, it is possible to use it even in a place where there is none. The amount of water used will be in proportion with the user's skill.

This technique extends water over a large scale, surges and rises up to several dozens of metres high. Then it streams down to the ground in one big cascade, much like a gigantic waterfall. In doing so, it resembles a huge wave, with tremendous power that can hollow out the ground. What remains after that technique's utilisation is reminiscent of no less than the aftermath of a natural disaster. This is a considerably advanced Ninjutsu, and activating this technique requires a fair amount of chakra. The water can also be produced from the mouth.

The user kneads chakra, and converts it into water, and then spits it out in the form of condensed balls. The high-speed water ball attack possesses just as much power to kill as an actual gunshot. While this is a Water Release technique, it can still be employed someplace where no water is available, which is a great advantage. It is also possible to increase the power of destruction of the spheres themselves by building up the chakra inside of them. The number of bullets is determined while kneading chakra. By taking advantage of gravity, the bullets can brutally increase in power.

The Water Clone Technique is similar to the Shadow Clone Technique except it creates clones that are made out of water. Also, unlike shadow clones, water clones hold only one-tenth of the original person's power. Like other solid clone techniques, the clones can be used to perform tasks the user is unable or unwilling to do for themselves. The range of the clone is limited however, as it can not travel very far from the original body without losing control. Like other clone techniques, if the water clones are injured enough they will revert to normal water.

The Hiding in Mist Technique is a speciality of the ninja from Kirigakure, where one causes a mist to spring forth by either lifting up water from a pre-existing source, or expelling water from their mouth. They can then go in and out of sight at will from within the pearly-white realm. The mist's thickness is controlled by the amount of chakra kneaded into it. It cannot fool the Byakugan, but, due to the mist being created with the user's chakra, any Sharingan and Rinnegan-user will see the mist coloured by their opponent's chakra — which will effectively hide the user from the dojutsu.

The user expels high-viscosity, chakra-infused water, aimed at a surface of wide scope. This is a stream of sticky liquid which can be used to form an adhesive trap that can inhibit a person's mobility. One can effectively reduce their enemy's area of activity with this technique, and has the effect of being able to take complete control over the battlefield. The normal scope of this technique is normally just a few metres, but if prepared, it is also possible to make an entire pond of starch syrup. Being caught in the technique can be avoided by channelling chakra to one's feet allowing one to walk upon it uninhibited, beforehand. The syrup can be manipulated to move after it is created, being able to stick and travel up surfaces.

This technique is used to trap a victim inside a virtually inescapable sphere of water. The only downside to this technique is that the user must keep at least one arm inside the sphere at all times in order for the victim to remain imprisoned. This technique requires a sufficient amount of water, which can be provided by expelling it from one's mouth. Once trapped the target is unable to move or breathe while within it due to the heaviness of the water. Because of the density of the water it can be used, to a limited extent, for defensive purposes if performed on oneself. It can also be stored in scrolls as traps. Water clones can be used in preparation for the technique, which block an opponent's attack and trap the attacker in the prison using the clone's own water.

This technique is a pinpoint slashing strike, where the user emits chakra from their fingertips and materialises it into an near invisible weapon that assaults the enemy in a gust of wind. If the Sickle Weasel Technique can be regarded as a swarm of wind kunai, then this technique is akin to an unavoidable longsword which can leave the target's body mutilated. Just being in close proximity to the technique can cause minor cuts. The wind blades can be created and thrown, like projectiles, in rapid succession.

The Wind Release: Great Breakthrough is a technique that creates a gust of wind, whose scale and usage varies depending on the user. If used by a superior shinobi, it has enough destructive power to knock down a large tree. The wind from the squall can blow away all things in the user's line of sight. The technique can also be used in the form of a devastation stream of wind expelled from the user's mouth. There is also a variation of the technique involves a smaller blast of wind which gets ignited with flame.

Demonic Mirroring Ice Crystals

An abominable and tremendous ability, it was passed down only within the Yuki clan. It is a technique wrapped up in many mysteries. It was said that no method in existence can defeat this technique. In an instant, multiple mirrors of ice are created around the enemy, reflecting nothing but Kasumi. The opponent is trapped in a dome of twenty-one floating mirrors made out of ice. Twelve remain at ground level, eight float above the first twelve and angled towards the ground, and the final mirror is above the rest and facing the ground. Once Kasumi has entered the mirrors, it's possible for her to move between the mirrors at exceedingly high speed levels. It's near impossible to follow attacks sent out from this incredible movement. As every mirror shows his reflection, one could say it's impossible to see all of Kazsumi's attacks. Even if the opponent tries to attack the real body, Kasumi will have already moved to another mirror. Without eyes like the Sharingan, it will be impossible to keep track of her.

If the mirror Kasumi is in is broken, she can leap out of one of the fragments and continue her attack or move to another mirror. The technique requires a large amount of chakra to maintain, so Kasumi's movement becomes progressively slower the longer she maintains the mirrors. Kasumi can also form individual mirrors, not restricted to the twenty-one-mirror formation. She can create them high in the sky allowing her to take out airborne targets. The cold which emanates from the mirrors is also enough to cause snow to fall. Though they are made from ice, the mirrors are resistant to Fire Release techniques.

Ice Release: Ice Rock Dome of Magnificent Nothingness

Kasumi can quickly freeze the surrounding air and create an ice dome around herself and/or allies to act as a defence. It is strong enough to withstand the assault of many explosive tags at once, remaining almost undamaged.

Ice Prison Technique

This technique allows the user to infuse their chakra with ice on the ground and bring it to the surface. The user can then trap their opponent within the ice by controlling its movements and completely surrounding them in the ice. It is strong enough to withstand basic Fire Release techniques, because the ice has already been infused with the user's chakra. The user can also surround themselves with the ice prison to act as a shield.

Ice Release: Ice Pod

The user touches their opponent's body, then by channelling their chakra into them, quickly solidifies them externally into a human ice statue. The victim can remain alive in a form of suspended animation for some time in their icy prison, but any decent hit will shatter them to pieces as if they were a thin sheet of ice. A similar effect can be reached through using a medium, such as a sword, which can freeze anything in contact with it. If the ice is melted both quickly and carefully the victim can return back to normal without any lasting repercussions, being that it is comparably less resistant to fire-based techniques as opposed to other techniques of the same chakra nature.

Ice Release: Stellar Barrier

The user uses their chakra to cool the freezing temperatures in front of it in this way can generate a large spike star-shaped shield that protects everything behind it against almost all possible attacks from its opponent. This technique also uses the particles of nitrogen dispersed in the air so that there is the formation of the shell.

The user freezes the ground in front of them before creating an expanding line of ice spikes that impale everything within the trajectory path. When used for short-range purposes, larger spikes can be formed several feet away from the user, although cannot travel much further; when used for long-range purposes, at first the spikes created are small in stature, although increase in size as does the path of the technique. Each spike is capable of breaking through earth and stone alike, meaning they spell a painful defeat to opponents who get caught within the technique's trajectory path.

The user creates a massive wall of ice. This technique drains a large amount of chakra to cast, although the quantity required can be reduced if there is frost present in the air, or a pre-existing source of ice, snow or water. The thickness of the wall depends on the skill of the caster; a master of Ice Release is capable of making the wall as thick as that of Konohagakure's, however a novice would only be able to make it relatively thin, such as those used in Demonic Mirroring Ice Crystals. Shattering the ice with a physical ice when the wall is at its thickest is near-impossible; in this form it may take up to a week for the ice to melt, or if the climate is cool enough, show signs of decreasing in size.

Ice Release: Saber

The user picks up several thin objects, such as blades of grass, and throws them into the air. They then blow on them with an icy breath that freezes them into a large, jagged sword of ice. The blade may be materialized without the use of a physical object as a catalyst, however it takes longer to conjure, and more chakra to strengthen it.

The user punctures the ground the ground in front of them four times in a semi circle. They take a battle stance as the ice particles begin to flow up from the punctures they made in the ground, which amass on either their hands, or a held weapon, before released by the user as a powerful large avalanche of cold air. It flash freezes whatever it comes into contact with, effectively encasing it in ice.

When his target is in position, the user swings either their hand, or a held weapon, inscribing a circle on the ground, or in the space around them; the space within that circle and all but the user freezes. The circle not only freezes the ground but everything within the circle's influence, including anything above it up in the air, creating an extending pillar of ice that then freezes all within in the circle. Shortly after being frozen, the victim then shatters along with the ice. The ice pillar won't shatter if the victim isn't caught within it.

Absolute Zero is a technique invented by Kasumi Yuki and is considered to be the strongest of all the Ice Release techniques and works by literally transforming the user into ice. The power this transformation grants an individual is often considered equivalent to that of a Jinchuuriki. In order to activate this technique, the user gathers extremely large amounts of ice-based chakra in their body. Eventually, the ice chakra swells and overtakes the body of the user, literally transforming them into a being of pure ice. Many individuals have incorrectly hypothesized that the user is simply "covered" in ice, because of the ice exuded by their body but this is incorrect. The Ice chakra changes the user's appearance drastically, changing their hair color, complexion and even clothing and weapons to a pure, snowy white hue. In addition, depending on the amount of ice chakra built up inside the user, the clothing of the user can be altered even further, with the Ice often taking the form of various cloaks. This was the case with Kasumi, who gained an elaborate kimono dress.

Halfway through the transformation, a pillar of ice-cold mist rises from and ascends into the air, completely surrounding the user in a circular fashion. Depending on the amount of ice chakra built up by the user, this mist can also spread outwards in a 360 degree shockwave, as well, covering anyone or anything in it's path with ice. Anyone within close proximity to the user of this technique becomes instantly frozen and, once they become frozen, they cannot be unfrozen, even with the use of Fire Release techniques. Once this mist dissipates, the transformed user becomes visible and are often in a highly altered formed, possessing some form of shock value within itself. While this form is active, any form of physical contact, even a gentle tap with the user causes the individual to freeze almost instantly as the user's body temperature is below -400 degrees Fahrenheit. This can include anything, from nearly all forms of chakra to Fire Release techniques, which simply freezes and crumbles away. The amount of time spent connected to the user also plays a vital role with how frozen the person or technique becomes, with shorter amounts of contact possessing minimal damage and longer contact being deadly.

In this form, the user is also frozen to below -400 degrees Fahrenheit, technically making the user of the technique dead. In this form, the users pulse is stilled, granting them the ability to not feel pain as well as making them immune to all forms of Genjutsu. Since the user of this technique becomes frozen to temperatures below -400 degrees Fahrenheit and is considered deceased while using the technique, multiple limitations are placed on the usage of this technique. When deactivating this technique, the user must follow a highly finite set of guidelines and if even one step is skipped or they are conducted out of order, the user could kill themselves by accident. First, the user must slowly release all of the Ice Release chakra pent up inside their body, slowly warming their body temperature back to normal while returning their body to previous condition. If this is not done correctly or is done too quickly, the user may shatter themselves, causing excruciating physical injury, including broken limbs, or even death.

Silent Killing

As the name suggests, this technique is simply a very quiet method of killing an opponent, usually from behind with a blade. Additionally, because the user moves silently, the attack cannot be anticipated and defended against. The user will often slit their opponent's throat, preventing any cry that might give them away. Some shinobi also opt to use a cover such as mist or even frost to rob their opponents of their field of vision and then attack them.

Hand Seals: Tiger

The Water Clone Technique is similar to the Shadow Clone Technique except it creates clones that are made out of water. Also, unlike shadow clones, water clones hold only one-tenth of the original person's power. Like other solid clone techniques, the clones can be used to perform tasks the user is unable or unwilling to do for themselves. The range of the clone is limited however, as it can not travel very far from the original body without losing control. Like other clone techniques, if the water clones are injured enough they will revert to normal water.

Hiding in Mist Technique

The Hiding in Mist Technique is a speciality of the ninja from Kirigakure, where one causes a mist to spring forth by either lifting up water from a pre-existing source, or expelling water from their mouth. They can then go in and out of sight at will from within the pearly-white realm. The mist's thickness is controlled by the amount of chakra kneaded into it. It cannot fool the Byakugan, but, due to the mist being created with the user's chakra, any Sharingan and Rinnegan-user will see the mist coloured by their opponent's chakra — which will effectively hide the user from the dojutsu.

Water Release: Starch Syrup Capturing Field

The user expels high-viscosity, chakra-infused water, aimed at a surface of wide scope. This is a stream of sticky liquid which can be used to form an adhesive trap that can inhibit a person's mobility. One can effectively reduce their enemy's area of activity with this technique, and has the effect of being able to take complete control over the battlefield. The normal scope of this technique is normally just a few metres, but if prepared, it is also possible to make an entire pond of starch syrup. Being caught in the technique can be avoided by channelling chakra to one's feet allowing one to walk upon it uninhibited, beforehand. The syrup can be manipulated to move after it is created, being able to stick and travel up surfaces.

Water Prison Technique

This technique is used to trap a victim inside a virtually inescapable sphere of water. The only downside to this technique is that the user must keep at least one arm inside the sphere at all times in order for the victim to remain imprisoned. This technique requires a sufficient amount of water, which can be provided by expelling it from one's mouth. Once trapped the target is unable to move or breathe while within it due to the heaviness of the water. Because of the density of the water it can be used, to a limited extent, for defensive purposes if performed on oneself. It can also be stored in scrolls as traps. Water clones can be used in preparation for the technique, which block an opponent's attack and trap the attacker in the prison using the clone's own water.

Blade of Wind

This technique is a pinpoint slashing strike, where the user emits chakra from their fingertips and materialises it into an near invisible weapon that assaults the enemy in a gust of wind. If the Sickle Weasel Technique can be regarded as a swarm of wind kunai, then this technique is akin to an unavoidable longsword which can leave the target's body mutilated. Just being in close proximity to the technique can cause minor cuts. The wind blades can be created and thrown, like projectiles, in rapid succession.

Using their chakra or a ninja tool such as a war fan to manipulate or create an external source of wind, the user can create one to several blades of wind, which are capable of slicing through their target with ease.

The Wind Release: Great Breakthrough is a technique that creates a gust of wind, whose scale and usage varies depending on the user. If used by a superior shinobi, it has enough destructive power to knock down a large tree. The wind from the squall can blow away all things in the user's line of sight. The technique can also be used in the form of a devastation stream of wind expelled from the user's mouth. There is also a variation of the technique involves a smaller blast of wind which gets ignited with flame.

Demonic Mirroring Ice Crystals

An abominable and tremendous ability, it was passed down only within the Yuki clan. It is a technique wrapped up in many mysteries. It was said that no method in existence can defeat this technique. In an instant, multiple mirrors of ice are created around the enemy, reflecting nothing but Kasumi. The opponent is trapped in a dome of twenty-one floating mirrors made out of ice. Twelve remain at ground level, eight float above the first twelve and angled towards the ground, and the final mirror is above the rest and facing the ground. Once Kasumi has entered the mirrors, it's possible for her to move between the mirrors at exceedingly high speed levels. It's near impossible to follow attacks sent out from this incredible movement. As every mirror shows his reflection, one could say it's impossible to see all of Kazsumi's attacks. Even if the opponent tries to attack the real body, Kasumi will have already moved to another mirror. Without eyes like the Sharingan, it will be impossible to keep track of her.

If the mirror Kasumi is in is broken, she can leap out of one of the fragments and continue her attack or move to another mirror. The technique requires a large amount of chakra to maintain, so Kasumi's movement becomes progressively slower the longer she maintains the mirrors. Kasumi can also form individual mirrors, not restricted to the twenty-one-mirror formation. She can create them high in the sky allowing her to take out airborne targets. The cold which emanates from the mirrors is also enough to cause snow to fall. Though they are made from ice, the mirrors are resistant to Fire Release techniques.

Ice Release: Ice Rock Dome of Magnificent Nothingness

Kasumi can quickly freeze the surrounding air and create an ice dome around herself and/or allies to act as a defence. It is strong enough to withstand the assault of many explosive tags at once, remaining almost undamaged.

Ice Prison Technique

This technique allows the user to infuse their chakra with ice on the ground and bring it to the surface. The user can then trap their opponent within the ice by controlling its movements and completely surrounding them in the ice. It is strong enough to withstand basic Fire Release techniques, because the ice has already been infused with the user's chakra. The user can also surround themselves with the ice prison to act as a shield.

The user touches their opponent's body, then by channelling their chakra into them, quickly solidifies them externally into a human ice statue. The victim can remain alive in a form of suspended animation for some time in their icy prison, but any decent hit will shatter them to pieces as if they were a thin sheet of ice. A similar effect can be reached through using a medium, such as a sword, which can freeze anything in contact with it. If the ice is melted both quickly and carefully the victim can return back to normal without any lasting repercussions, being that it is comparably less resistant to fire-based techniques as opposed to other techniques of the same chakra nature.

Ice Release: Stellar Barrier

The user uses their chakra to cool the freezing temperatures in front of it in this way can generate a large spike star-shaped shield that protects everything behind it against almost all possible attacks from its opponent. This technique also uses the particles of nitrogen dispersed in the air so that there is the formation of the shell.

Ice Release: Geyser

The user freezes the ground in front of them before creating an expanding line of ice spikes that impale everything within the trajectory path. When used for short-range purposes, larger spikes can be formed several feet away from the user, although cannot travel much further; when used for long-range purposes, at first the spikes created are small in stature, although increase in size as does the path of the technique. Each spike is capable of breaking through earth and stone alike, meaning they spell a painful defeat to opponents who get caught within the technique's trajectory path.

The user creates a massive wall of ice. This technique drains a large amount of chakra to cast, although the quantity required can be reduced if there is frost present in the air, or a pre-existing source of ice, snow or water. The thickness of the wall depends on the skill of the caster; a master of Ice Release is capable of making the wall as thick as that of Konohagakure's, however a novice would only be able to make it relatively thin, such as those used in Demonic Mirroring Ice Crystals. Shattering the ice with a physical ice when the wall is at its thickest is near-impossible; in this form it may take up to a week for the ice to melt, or if the climate is cool enough, show signs of decreasing in size.

Ice Release: Saber

The user picks up several thin objects, such as blades of grass, and throws them into the air. They then blow on them with an icy breath that freezes them into a large, jagged sword of ice. The blade may be materialized without the use of a physical object as a catalyst, however it takes longer to conjure, and more chakra to strengthen it.

Ice Release: White Ripple

The user punctures the ground the ground in front of them four times in a semi circle. They take a battle stance as the ice particles begin to flow up from the punctures they made in the ground, which amass on either their hands, or a held weapon, before released by the user as a powerful large avalanche of cold air. It flash freezes whatever it comes into contact with, effectively encasing it in ice.

When his target is in position, the user swings either their hand, or a held weapon, inscribing a circle on the ground, or in the space around them; the space within that circle and all but the user freezes. The circle not only freezes the ground but everything within the circle's influence, including anything above it up in the air, creating an extending pillar of ice that then freezes all within in the circle. Shortly after being frozen, the victim then shatters along with the ice. The ice pillar won't shatter if the victim isn't caught within it.

Ice Release: Absolute Zero

Absolute Zero is a technique invented by Kasumi Yuki and is considered to be the strongest of all the Ice Release techniques and works by literally transforming the user into ice. The power this transformation grants an individual is often considered equivalent to that of a Jinchuuriki. In order to activate this technique, the user gathers extremely large amounts of ice-based chakra in their body. Eventually, the ice chakra swells and overtakes the body of the user, literally transforming them into a being of pure ice. Many individuals have incorrectly hypothesized that the user is simply "covered" in ice, because of the ice exuded by their body but this is incorrect. The Ice chakra changes the user's appearance drastically, changing their hair color, complexion and even clothing and weapons to a pure, snowy white hue. In addition, depending on the amount of ice chakra built up inside the user, the clothing of the user can be altered even further, with the Ice often taking the form of various cloaks. This was the case with Kasumi, who gained an elaborate kimono dress.

Halfway through the transformation, a pillar of ice-cold mist rises from and ascends into the air, completely surrounding the user in a circular fashion. Depending on the amount of ice chakra built up by the user, this mist can also spread outwards in a 360 degree shockwave, as well, covering anyone or anything in it's path with ice. Anyone within close proximity to the user of this technique becomes instantly frozen and, once they become frozen, they cannot be unfrozen, even with the use of Fire Release techniques. Once this mist dissipates, the transformed user becomes visible and are often in a highly altered formed, possessing some form of shock value within itself. While this form is active, any form of physical contact, even a gentle tap with the user causes the individual to freeze almost instantly as the user's body temperature is below -400 degrees Fahrenheit. This can include anything, from nearly all forms of chakra to Fire Release techniques, which simply freezes and crumbles away. The amount of time spent connected to the user also plays a vital role with how frozen the person or technique becomes, with shorter amounts of contact possessing minimal damage and longer contact being deadly.

In this form, the user is also frozen to below -400 degrees Fahrenheit, technically making the user of the technique dead. In this form, the users pulse is stilled, granting them the ability to not feel pain as well as making them immune to all forms of Genjutsu. Since the user of this technique becomes frozen to temperatures below -400 degrees Fahrenheit and is considered deceased while using the technique, multiple limitations are placed on the usage of this technique. When deactivating this technique, the user must follow a highly finite set of guidelines and if even one step is skipped or they are conducted out of order, the user could kill themselves by accident. First, the user must slowly release all of the Ice Release chakra pent up inside their body, slowly warming their body temperature back to normal while returning their body to previous condition. If this is not done correctly or is done too quickly, the user may shatter themselves, causing excruciating physical injury, including broken limbs, or even death.

Silent Killing

Kanji: 無音殺人術
Rōmaji: Sairento Kiringu
Classification: General Skill, Fighting Style

Range: Short-Range

As the name suggests, this technique is simply a very quiet method of killing an opponent, usually from behind with a blade. Additionally, because the user moves silently, the attack cannot be anticipated and defended against. The user will often slit their opponent's throat, preventing any cry that might give them away. Some shinobi also opt to use a cover such as mist or even frost to rob their opponents of their field of vision and then attack them.

• The name "Kasumi" (カズミ) means "mist." It can also come from "花" (Ka) meaning "flower, blossom" combined with "澄" (Sumi) meaning "clear" or "pure." Her family name "Yuki" (雪) literally means "snow."
