Description
This is a character I adopted from of his/her custom species, the danmares.

Lorelei in my mind is a cheetah born with unusual features: long pointed ears and long flowing fur from her neck to her tail.
Despite being teased and bullied for her odd appearance growing up, Lorelei became her village's healer, succeeding her mother in that trade.
I...haven't quite figured out why she's called Dame Mare yet.
One thing I thought of perhaps it has reference to her childhood nickname, as her long hair and long ears looked like those of a horse, and it just stuck.
Another idea I had was in reference to the region she grew up in was called 'The Mare' based on the Latin word for sea (Maria).
The third idea I had is connected to another meaning of 'mare'. Mares in Medieval European folklore were a type of spirit, that were said to be bringers of bad dreams, or nightmares. In some tales, Mares were also a type of Succubis, said to seduce men in their dreams, and then torture them while they slept.
The third idea would make Lorelei seem more enigmatic than the others.
It could be possible that due to her childhood teasing, she has shut herself away from daily exposure to society, only coming to the villages when her services are needed.
