I’ve drawn Marin! Is this my big chance?
No, for she is Link’s dream girl.………………………………see what I did there?
Link had saved Hyrule, Holodrum, and Labrynna. He had become restless, and sent out on a journey of enlightenment. At some point, Link’s ship got caught in a storm, and was destroyed by a bolt of lightning. Link drifts on the shore of a mysterious island, where he is found by a young red haired girl named Marin. Link mistakes her for Zelda at first. Link is later told that in order to leave the island, he must find the Eight Instruments of the Sirens and play them at the giant egg at the summit of the mountains to awaken the Wind Fish.
Marin also has a very beautiful singing voice, and can often be found singing Ballad of the Wind Fish. You even have to escort her to another village, where she has to sing to someone to advance the plot, and she teaches you that very song when you get the ocarina. Link and Marin cross paths quite frequently throughout the game, and she develops feelings for him toward the end. Tragically, she is but an illusion of the Wind Fish, and will disappear along with everything on Koholint Island should the Wind Fish be awakened. Marin has not been seen in the series since. Although the girl from the ranch is heavily based on her, that’s about as close as we’ve gotten.
That is until she was confirmed to appear in Hyrule Warriors, where she proves to be an excellent fighter, and one of my favorite characters to use. She attacks her enemies by swinging around a giant bell that launches water bubbles. This fills up her water gauge, and pressing the strong attack button makes her launch all that stored water at her enemies. This can easily tear through weak point gauges, and do some serious damage to keeps, and any enemies weak to water.
Marin was pretty easy to draw, until I got to her feet. I hate drawing bare feet. I like her sandals though, but I think she should have her feet covered next time. I also had a hard time with that sash wrapped around her waist, mostly the part where it’s tied. I used a cosplayer to help me draw this, alongside using her concept art and character model from Hyrule Warriors.
I would like to dedicate this picture to , who was the model for this picture, a beautiful cosplayer, and a talented artist.
