Awww. How sweet. My good friend who introduced me to riding owns a Trakehner Warmblood. The only horse I've really ridden for dressage was a little Friesian horse. :]

you sure she wasn't like a fell pony?? they are like perfect little pony versions of friesians...

Yeah I'm pretty sure she's friesian. Shes not small enough to be a pony.. and I don't think she could be a pony cause we don't tend to use ponies for dressage. She's just a midget I think. :]

Its one of those things that just come to you one day.. and it becomes natural. :]
If you do it enough I fell like you can't NOT do it.. sitting the trot killss. D:

THAT makes no sense.
You can't use a western bridle.. and say only dressage.. OK NO.
Haha, well Dressage is very pretty, but its not just looks, its probably the most difficult and tedious form of riding, which is why a lot of people have trouble with it. It depends on what you want, if you want fun and games, dressage is probably not for you. ^^

Haha, see I know what you mean. See my friend rides Dressage only but when she goes out to Montana every summer to see her family, they ride western saddle and basically bound their way through the fields. Hahaha.

A little diversity never hurt... I have a greenbroke Morgan who some of my friends are just dying to turn into a dressage horse, and I won't deny it, he's balanced enough and hes a great mover, obviously a nice trot on him, haha, but I just won't do it. He will be my wetsern horse, although i think he really has a lot of potential, and I might send him somehwere to be trained for dressage, although I don't see the point in it, I still won't ride him anything besides western haha

It depends on what you want to do. If you get a good price on him for dressage and your willing to give up his western-ness (hah) you should do it. I suppose it depends on the situation too. If he is turned into a dressage horse, theres no going back. You won't be able to ride him in any way western, or the entirety of the dressage training will go down the hole.
:]

Aww, if you do decide to sell him, make sure you find a good place for him to go. Don't let your horse go off to some rathouse. D:

Yes, and not only that, but I need him to go somewhere that he can fulfill his potential, because I know he has a lot of it. We shall see, I will do everything I can to avoid selling him. I often think about leasing, but I just know that all my training will go down the crapper. Meh...

Yeah, I know what you mean. If you absolutely don't want to sell him you don't have to, its a difficult spot that your in though. Maybe you could get a friend to lease, which may save your training? :]

i've been considering. I have plenty of friends in need of temporary horses, it seems obvious, but they are all either inexperienced, un-confident, or very tough riders (and he doesnt take much to get going, think it and hell do it haha, which I would like to keep!!), and the few3 that I think could maybe do well enough, can't afford to lease. I'll figure it out. Its funny, we have been talking about how i am such a strictly western rider, and as of yesterday, I took up saddleseat on maverick. Its interesting... although I am very sore. I have been at it nonstop, because I will be competing in a month, and I don't want to look like I just started out, ya know? so yeah, and of course all the muscles I will be using for saddle seat are out of shape. *sigh*

I get too nervous to compete really.. maybe after I graduate I'll give it a shot.. as for now.. Eh. D:
Plus not having my own horse doesn't really help.

Yeah, I don't have a lot of time for my own horse, or the money. I have enough to worry about with school and stuffs.
Yea, I'm sure it would get better if I ever went to a show. :]

Ahaha, I'm slightly lucky that I have the ability to ride so easily without having to pay for a horse with such a good friend who has a horse. :]
