This was for my AP art final exam: each student picked one of the bricks in the art room wall (approx. 8"x16"), spackled it, and painted something on it. Some people did several blocks, but I just did one, and instead of painting, cause I don't like to paint, I used colored pencils. Yes, they do work on spackle, if you don't press too hard. If you look at this closely, you can see some white flecks - that's where I pressed too hard with the pencil and the spackle started to wear away.Originally, this didn't have a background, but my art teacher said I needed one, so I just added something quick.
Ref image found on google. I altered it a little, especially color-wise.

In the past, students who were really dedicated to art were allowed to paint a brick on the wall to kinda spice up the room I guess. Since this was the first year my highschool offered AP art, my teacher thought all 19 of us deserved to leave our mark on the wall. It was definitely a different experience, heh.

They'd better not! I think student artwork should remain a permanent part of the school building. It creates a tie between years and years of different art students.

I agree... unfortunately, most of the really old stuff was painted over. Can't say I liked the purple border around the room, but they should've at least kept the artwork.
