I shall congratulate myself on actually drawing something, It's been like two weeks since I drew anything.
Starting the year with a head&shoulders 3,8/4 profile view with frilly historical dresses, flowers and some implied cliche violence; plus a sky with clouds and Tina.
Gee, isn't this the very expression of how generic the content of my art is? lmfao 0 creativity whatsoever.

Nevertheless, I like it! it was merely some shading practise (I know, I always say everything is practice tbh I always change my colouring method) and it kind of went out of hand.
I was inspired by seeing so many pretty clothes in the Pride&Prejudice series and I wanted to draw Tina with one of those pretty hats. Note she isn't wearing a Regency Era attire, her clothes and hairstyle are actually inspired by 1840s Buenos Aires aristocracy. I use the movie Camila as a goldmine of clothing reference.

Idk what's up with the knife, I was thinking of the violence and repression during Rosas' goverment when I made it. Agustina wasn't particulary a damsel from the elite so I suppose she was more involved with the violent confrontations. And she probably wasn't wearing dresses like this in those situations, but that doesn't mean she didn't hang out with the upper classes haha.

Red is a very present colour in Argentina, and I think it represents her character well (by the way, it's the most common colour in our provinces' flags after light blue and white). Specially during post-independence Argentina, red became a key colour in politics. In this picture's context, the red is an alussion to Rosas' government in Buenos Aires, explicitly the divisa punzó, the red ribbon she's wearing on her dress.

Me da paja explicarlo en inglés pero debo aclarar que imagino que el conflicto entre las provincias se dio entre los personajes de las provincias (louflash123 y floriblue tienen muchos dibujos en su galería al respecto) pero que Agustina, la representante de Argentina, debía adaptarse a las normas del territorio que estuviera pisando. Osea que si estaba en Buenos Aires usaba la divisa punzó, pero no significa que necesariamente haya apoyado fervientemente a Rosas (ni que hubiera estado en contra de él).
