Nice choice of line-art 
Maybe you could make your shading more pronounced, because it looks sort of like flat colours. Did you use a mouse? I don't have a tablet so when I try to colour digitally I have to use a mouse, and it's so tedious and annoying XD
The hair is cool though.
Was the smudged lineart an intended effect?
I think maybe if you made the 'L' letter completely black (i.e. without the white bits on the inside of the line-art) it would look nicer xD

lol Thanks for the constructive criticism! I'm actually NOT using a mouse or a tablet, I'm using a touchpad XD I REALLY havta practice shading, cuz I really suck at it 
I like your suggestion about the 'L' maybe I'll go back and work on this a little more some time
I'm just trying my hand at new styles, and this was done really recently as I only just graduated from colored pencils to digital painting like two months ago ^^ I'm trying to do better, cuz I like art, but I don't EVER expect to go pro or anything...Meh...I'm rambling again XD

Heehee, I have GIMP too ^^ It's like a sort of 'free Photoshop' to me 8D though I haven't been using it much lately. Maybe I'll get around to messing around on it again XD
^^ Keep trying new styles and experiment around~ There are some great guides around on dA which might be helpful too
