So, with Mighty No 9 being released I got around to downloading it and am afraid to play the game after all the terrible reviews. I'm sure it's not nearly as bad as they make it seem but still. xD

Jokes aside, well, few moths before the release (or right after the dramas if you're meanie) everyone knew the game isn't going to be as spectacular as they promised. But maybe it will sell nicely and Capcom will be like "Oh fudge, someone actually cares about Mega Man :UUUUUUUUUUU oh well boys, better make the sequels".
But haven't tried the game, because my laptop from 2013 can't run this majesty ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ And I've heard opinions (actually one) that this game might be even harder than Mega Man & Bass on GBA.

Right now would be a perfect time for Capcom to release a new Megaman game. Hell, I would if I were them just to stir things up.
It's a decent game. If you ever wanted to try it out I'd suggest waiting for a price drop.

If you put money into this already, I say play it anyway and make the best out of it. The Mega Man feel is certainly there.

I've been playing through it. I'll have a more thorough idea as I get further into the game, but so far it's... pretty much a Mega Man game. It's biggest drawback is the overabundance of insta-death scenarios which grows quite tiresome, but some points about it are quite interesting takes on gameplay and story, kinda expanding on the way they did things in Mega Man X with beating certain stages changing layouts of others.
My biggest gripe is probably Beck's running animation though.

The more I play of it the more it kind of grows on me. Feels pretty nice once you get into the flow of things and speed through places absorbing the enemies. Can get a good flow and it makes me feel pretty awesome when I do. The insta-kills are always annoying of course. Really hate them in almost every Megaman-ish game.
Becks running animation is pretty goofy looking, a bit too bouncy if you ask me. I can deal with it though. The mouths not moving in cutscenes bothers me. I know it's a minor thing that has nothing to do with the gameplay but it looks really silly when they are talking and no mouth movement to me.

Yeah, I wrote a pretty lengthy journal about my thoughts on it. I found the same thing though- the more I played it, the more I came to enjoy it.
I can understand why people are upset. It really does feel like it should have had a bit more polish for the budget it got, but... eh. I only paid $20 for it, and it's an okay game at that price. I think people are just feeling jaded. This is the backlash that can happen when you prey on scorned fanboys, I suppose. Especially with all the drama that apparently took place during development (which I never really followed, as I wasn't interested in being 'on voice in a million' trying to develop a game).

So far I'm having a good time. It's not going to top any of your favorites in the franchise, but it's worth playing. Honestly, the worst thing about it is just that it's a bit ugly.

That's a "Mighty" big predicament for Inafune, especially after the fanfare about leaving Capcom. I kinda want to see how it sells for a bit first and then make my decisions. The only current-gen system I own right now is a 3DS, so I don't buy many games anymore. That said, I'm heading to PAX this fall and I'll stock up on things for the older systems I have from the vendors there. The gaps in my Battle Network collection scream to be filled!

I saw DashieGames play it, and it doesn't seem as bad as they say. It was only the highway, Capitol Building and radio tower stages, though.

Gurl, Mega Man 8 got a 6/10 and MN9 got a 5.6/10. That says something. Who gives a damn what other people think and just play what you want to play.
I'd be playing the SHIT out of it if I had a WiiU. Alas, I'm not so lucky.

It's not half as bad as people made it out to be. For the money it got backed with though it really could a been more, or at least I feel that way ( Not that I know much about developing a game at all. ).

Yeah, I'm curious about the budget too. I quickie searched around the net, but they mostly list AAA games with budgets of over $50M. 
Anyway... the game hasn't even been released yet for 3DS or Vita apparently. So I can't play it yet anyway.

Game is a great Mega Man game, been playing it all night. I'm liking it up there with MM9 and 10.
Reviewers are irrelevant when it comes to Mega Man, look at Mega Man 7. As for MN9, they either don't like the graphics or it's Nintendo Hard. Game itself is great.
Play it and live in spite of them and the nerdy ass haters.
