Description This is only miiiiiildly inspired by “Watership Down“, so it's none of the characters in particular, just a random rabbit.
For this day's prompt I planned to draw a dead animal with its spirit / ghost leaving it, because I liked the idea and wanted to try jst white pens for the spirit version to see what it would look like. It took a while to decide which species to choose, but eventually I picked a rabbit since I don't draw those often ( Bunny from “Rise of the Guardians“ doesn't count ).
Spiritual topics interest me a lot and O consider myself to be a very spiritual person myself, so working on this drawing had a very...I don't know how to call it... “soothing“ effect on me?

Colored with several kinds of black markers, white gel pen and white colored pencil on grey paper.

Reminds me of my poor Marilyn, who passed away a couple of years back, way too young, like her namesake.

Aww, poor bunny.
I wanna say something about joining the Great spirit and all the other animals, you know like native american kind of thing.

I loved that movie!  Was rather sad when Hazel, at the end of his days, finally met the spirit of his god and left with him.

This makes me sad.  I like rabbits. Hope this dead rabbit will go to rabbit heaven.

Anyway, this is an interesting concept.  Beautiful drawing.

but a very realism knowing that rabbits have that going on in real life is not all cute and cuddly like in a pet store.

Damn, the feelings... At the same time I'm sad because this reminds me our rabbit who's already passed, but at the same I love it...

Right away I thought of Hazel realizing he wouldn't be needing his body anymore. Which reminded me of Ross Douthat (not one of my favorite columnists) writing about "Watership Down" in today's New York Times, which also carried an article about the latest Raina Telgemeier book. It's been a good day today and it's nowhere near lunchtime!
