holy-goddamn-shit. somebody did their research. awesomely moving. art-wise, it could be a little more matching; the fade of the photo clashes with the crisp type. but awesome none the less.

That's terrible. I get the whole "premarital sex is a sin" part. But shouldn't neglecting one's child, as well as one's grandchild, and possibly leading them to their death be considered a sin as well?

One would think, but there is still an incredible amount of ignorance in this world. It's truly heart breaking

This is so true. Thank you for making this poster, having been homeless I really appreciate it!

I'm all for helping the homeless but this is just attention grabbing pandering. So what, being homeless is now so much sadder because some homeless people are younger, gay and/or pregnant? Don't get me wrong you have my utmost respect for choosing a workplace that tries to make life better for these people, but this poster reeks of just pushing hot topics.
After all, when you break the numbers down, only 8% of all homeless are either youths of different sexual orientation or unwed mothers. That's a paltry number, but then in a community like DA talking about anything that has to do with these two topics seems to gain tons of attention. Not to mention that saying "nearly all teens were thrown out...forced to leave their home..." and then having one of your discussion points start with, "The largest group of youths thrown out of their homes are Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and transgendered teens" when its only 26% is just plain old manipulation of facts.
I'm all for bringing awareness of the world's plights to the common person's attention, but if this suddenly made anyone "care" about the homeless problem then they're just fooling themselves.

Domina Moon is right at least in on regard: I dont care if they are teens, gay or transsexual.
The Problem is people are homeless, and i wonder why the situation should be different or worse for gay homless people compared to that of heterosexual homless people.

I understand your point, but I chose to make this because it is something that I see the effects of everyday, and it is deeply troubling. If all I wanted was attention I'd simply post bad cell phone pictures of my tits and watch the page views pour in.
No where did I say that homelessness is "sadder" for gay and pregnant teens, I was pointing out that fact that a disproportionate amount of those people are homeless because of prejudice.
if it's the numbers you have a problem with I suggest you take it up with these foundations [link] [link] [link]
Thanks for your opinion.

I'm sorry, but I should have been clearer in my original comment, as it was half directed at the poster itself and half at the rest of the general public. When I mentioned how "being homeless is now so much sadder because some homeless people are younger, gay and/or pregnant" I was more referring to how many people don't give a shit about the homeless until you show them somebody from their age group or with a connection to them. The amount of homeless people has no doubt grown in past years due to increased overcrowding of shelters across North America, but no one in our generation seems to care until they see a teen or an unwed mother pregnant, and I don't just mean regarding your poster either. I've seen whole ad campaigns that do nothing more that show young people homeless.
The fact is that homeless youths are one of those "popular causes" that people get behind, like how 15 years ago it was all about sending money to third world children. All I'm saying is that anybody can get behind a 15 year old homeless girl, but it's the hypocrisy of those same "supporters" that are totally indifferent to the "bums" on the street that really pisses me off.

such is the nature of humanity to be callous, but i've known too many homeless people to harbor such notions of sympathy. i feel for the children born into it, or forced into it, but to be honest many of them wind up much more capable of handling it than the parents who brought them into the world in their miserable manner. i'm not going to feel bad for the bums nickel and diming it while they could be applying to corner store jobs, asking for a shower at a local gas station. i'm not going to feel bad for them when they hit up their local Walgreen's for a Pepsi and a Snickers(which they pay for with their foodstamps) instead of hitting up the local library for a book and Hannaford for some fresh produce.
we cannot force humanity on people anymore than we can force them to deserve it.

i can't read the text very well. it's scrunched together and the bold doesn't help it. i would suggest maybe using arial black or impact at a little bit bigger scale.

well, if we're going for western than maybe a grittier version of the font instead of it being scrunchy like that? ([link] or [link] even would work better i think.) i've done full view and it's still quite difficult for me to read. but that may just be me... it's just an opinion.

This should be more well known. Most people think that the homeless are older people who lost jobs or just bums. I certainly had no ideas teenagers made any proportion of them, let alone such a huge one.
