Jackoluna Donnelly, professional Irish tattoo artist and slightly bonkers oddball living and working in Camden Town with a taste for punk/goth fashion and anything unusual, gothic or creepy. She delights in playing up to her punk/goth image and people's expectations of that image, particularly if it means she can creep someone out or scare them, mostly for her own amusement at their reactions. Of course, most people know her belief in magic or that she's a demon or witch or vampire or whatever the hell she feels like being this week is all hokum either designed for the benefit of customers and tourists or simply again to amuse herself - or both. They know she's pretending and she knows they know, and it's something of an in-joke between her and the rest of her miscellaneous neighbours, friends and associates. With Jackoluna, it's hard to pick apart what's an act and what's real. But there's more to her claims than you might think...
EDIT: Changed her name. It wasn't sitting right with me.

Well I think it's nice, the shading is neat the colours are vibrant and the character is interesting. Although everything looks kind of flat, but a small flaw, easily overcome.

As for inspiration, hmm... If I recall correctly, I wanted to create a female character with her hair short, straight, black and sleek, but my fae don't have straight hair (weird rule, I know, but all of them have hair that's either slightly wild or mussed or it's got kinks in it, kinda to represent their wild origins and their nature magic - lame, I know) or black hair, so she would have to straighten and dye it, which led me to figure she'd be living in the human world and to wonder WHY she'd be living there away from the court. And so I figured her to be something of a rebel, and the straight black hair made me think of the punk/goth look. I'm sorry, it's not a very interesting reason XD
Plus, I really liked the look of some of these modern Japanese punk-ish fashions I saw on Tumblr, and I really wanted to use those, especially since I don't have many modern characters (well, characters that were born nearer to modern times and haven't lived across several centuries anyway...), I wanted to design a unique look that I haven't normally gone for in the past. Do something different, you know? Like with Mallow's character-design - it's pretty plain (his human form anyway). Just your average teenage boy in either his school uniform or whatever clean clothes he can find to throw on. And I guess the fashion just kinda led me to think about what sort of person would wear those clothes and ta-dah - Jackoluna was born. Other background stuff went into how I wanted to shape her character, but I'm keeping those cards to my chest for now ;D

*latest reply ever* I love her name! And that's as good a reason as any. This definitely was a look that's very much different to your usual character designs. I like muchly. ;D Is she still a character who was born in antiquity/has lived for centuries anyway, or no?

Thanks, Dae! <3 Boy, it was a struggle coming up with something that felt right, though XD I finally narrowed it down to 'Jacaranda' and 'Cantoluna', but neither sounded right so I just meshed the two.
