"I'm an idiot. I don't care if he was the most handsome man I've ever met. I should just turn around and go home. Father always says, 'Never trust and elf!' Besides, no man, elf or not, is going to be interested in me the way I want them to be.", mumbles Daelyn to himself. Sure, Faerdhinen had asked him out which, right off the bat was different. He'd been with a men before...in the hay loft...behind the pig pen. It was always one sided, over too fast, and then, they went home to their wives. In other words, it was awful. Once, there was even that time behind the Copper Kettle when that drunken lot had beaten him to death after roughly having their way with him. Rather than offer to help after finding him bleeding in the street with his pants around his ankles, his father had beaten him again for allowing it to happen. Now, he was walking out into the woods at night because Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome asked him to. "Idiot!", he grumbled again. Just as he's about to lose his nerve, he notices lights up ahead through the trees. Shoring up his nerve, Daelyn keeps moving until he sees an enormous old gate set into an even larger wall. There are lit torches everywhere. More importantly, there is Faerdhinen leaning up against the gate as if he's doing it an honor just to deign to touch it.

"You came! I thought you might have changed your mind.", Faerdhinen says with a grin.

"What?!? No, never!", proclaims Daelyn with what he hopes is an air of confidence.

"Really? I seem to recall hearing that only an idiot would come out here to meet an untrustworthy elf who couldn't possibly be interested in a human." Wickedly, Faerdhinen adds, "So, you think I'm handsome?"

"YOU HEARD THAT? Damn, elven hearing.", Daelyn blurts out before he can stop himself.

Laughing, Faerdhinen replies, "I heard that too. Please, let me start over. Creoso, mellonamin! Welcome, my friend. Would you join me in the garden? There are torches along the path to chase away the shadows, and I've summoned every pixie I could find. None shall dare harm you while you are with me. It has been many years since I've sought to impress someone. I hope I've done it right."

Forgetting all the warnings and not knowing what to say, Daelyn simply smiles back and steps through the gate without another word.
