Someone's trash is someone else's treasure, as the saying goes. Some swamp hens reckon this abandoned car is an ideal spot to hang out (or to build a nest).Painted in November last year, for an art contest on the theme of wetland management (I wasn't shortlisted).
Acrylic, 40 x 57.5 cm.

Thank you very much. You exactly expressed what I was trying to portray- although some species are highly vulnerable to human impacts, others can be more resilient.

You have brought such life and beauty to what would normally be considered a trashy scene. You're just as amazing at painting inanimate man-made objects as you are at living creatures and natural scenery. I'm very impressed at how well you have portrayed the dents and rust and other damage to the car. The swamp hens are adorable in a way, too. I love the colors glinting off their dark feathers.
