Description

Finally took a decent photo of Vince last night!.

Ive had most of Vinces design finalized for nearly 5 years now and Ive been working on his model for nearly a year and up until just a few weeks ago he was just a bunch of grey clay sculpted parts. (see pic below)

The most rewarding bit of the whole process is during that magic 12th hour when you make the final molds, cast the parts in all the appropriate resins (Vince has 5 different resins in him) when you begin to paint and see the final colors and surfaces on a piece, you pop in the eyes and suddenly you no longer have a sculpture but a character.

Here are some of his expression sculpts

and another pic of him

It's really amazingly one and looks so badass. I have the feeling that he could make a really cool Casey Jones doll too.

Damn! this looks really cool. love the colors man! All the little details really sets it up to just look like the character not just a "doll". Awesome work!

love this so much - so not your traditional doll

is the process of casting your own terribly messy and difficult? any links on good tutorials or advice for beginners at home who might want to dabble in a new medium?

You are welcome

keen to see what comes next and how you plan to use this group.

I'm a little scared of trying casting, have done some small clear resin pours into random items I used as molds to try make some eyes. No idea what happened but it was sticky for weeks(months even?) I'm worried about touching it for fear of melting fingerprints into my clear 2 part resin - sigh

I live in awe of your powers over casting! lol

Thank you, He was heavily inspired by Mad Max/80s rockers, He has two friends who I'm working on who were similarly inspired
