Description Using a garbage resin cast to test out the poseability of my Steve body sculpt, This is the first 17” body sculpt Ive created and Ive already fallen in love with the scale… Soooooo much easier to cast and work with than my 27” sculpts!

Im currently sanding, refining and molding 15 of his 20+ expression plates, Im really excited to get them finisehd.

I really like how angular your creations are, and I really like how dynamic Steve can be with his upper torso tilted and his hip stuck out hahaa.
I think the 'underware' joint is incredibly clever and somewhat hilarious as well!

sorry for bombarding you with comments!

Ah I see! = D Well be sure to let me know if I ever flood you with them unintentionally.

Can I ask what you usually do with junk/garbage casts? Is there a way to re-use them/salvage parts from them for other creations?
Or do you just have a small shelf or two filled with some slightly silly Steves and etc. that turned out a bit funny?

Ooo I really like this! So unusual to see a more stylised BJD, I really like the effect it has. And his face sculpts look awesome! Great work

So looking forward to getting my hands on one of these! Any chance of being able to get a straight on shot of him and his body? The picture wouldn't be very artistic, but I'd like to start mapping out all the mods I plan to do to mine, and a static straight on stance would REALLY help. Maybe the front and back? Sorry I'm being a pest about it, but I'd like to be able to have him all planned out when he arrives, and the word starts X3

I'm currently adding some details to his lower legs, I decided to give him a little more calf definition.

with work on the studio, my current commissions and casting work and making additional master molds for the casting of the 40 Steve's and finishing Vince's prototype. I haven't had much time but I will post head-on standing photos soon as I'm able. probably in mid December.

Quite late catching this. Fantastic articulation, and glad you`re enjoying the smaller scale. People keep telling me to go bigger with my figures... maybe some day we`ll meet in the middle

Its great to see you back! yea Ive been working on him for a while now, he's totally finisehd (see bad photo here [link] ) Ive just been trying to finish all of his expressions and haven't had any time to take good final pics of him
I'm LOVING the 17" scale, It makes everything (prop and set building) soo much more economical. Id love to work in the 12" scale and I envy guys like you who do it sooo well, but even at 17" im pushing my ability to sculpt small detail, haha.

Again its awesome to see you back

Really good to hear
Though it may feel like you`re pushing your ability with smaller scale, i know you`ll be every bit as awesome. I genuinely fear going bigger with my own models but i know i need to in order to do some of the things i want to do. It`s really not a bad photo btw.
Thanks so much for the great welcome

Thanks, He was fun to sculpt I'm working on modding the figure right now to make a more muscular and also a taller version of this body as well.

I'm kind of surprised his fingers/toes aren't square-er, but he's looking very good

Thanks,.. they are squared but just on the ends/tips, even his toes (haha), I didn't want to go overboard though, I wanted him to be cartoonish and angular but still have some softness here and there.
