Julien was close. How close? Ernest was beginning to slide down his fucking throat, that's how close it was, and the closer it got, the more it fucked up Ernest's head.
It took that long for Julien to realize "wait, i doNT think this is what I want" and he barely made it before sticking his fingers in his throat would have to be a solution
idk man... that whole thing is gonna stick with them for the rest of the story, hell, for the rest of their lives...
and since I was already talking about Ewald's relationship with Julien, and Ernest's relationship with his father as of late and ive been wanting to talk more about these idiots sdfghj

Ernest srsly let it get to him, and that's sort of how the others (Irene esp) came to realize it without him saying it outright. He's got the aloofness down, the fear of closeness and commitment, the anger, toxic masculinity, all of it
And then there's Julien who's all smiley and openly craves closeness and intimacy, a hella feminine type communicator
It's mostly because Ernest didn't have a role model/healthy father figure in his life, before and after his own dad's passing. And Julien, well, he sort of explained in the 17th chapter, ewald doesnt want him, alan doesnt want to be any closer, and ernest is all he has. That's how desperate he was for a sort of Father in his life, he made it work as much as it could for his fucked up little mind. like "ernest cant ever leave or disown me like ewald says he would!!!" yeah because youre literally holding him hostage....
okAY so instead of posting this stuff, i spent the last few hours watching Whose Line Is It Anyway and wheezing in laughter... sigh.. i miss my drama class/club

And then he pukes him out and his legs and half his torso are dissolved and he's like barely hanging on to consciousness, and Jules is just sobbing into the pile of vomit (that has brown mucus-y blobs because that's what happens to blood in the stomach) and either he watches Ernest die, or he freaks and screams loud enough that Alan or maybe Miruna comes running and see the dolls and Julien bawling over a puddle of vomit with a barely recognizable human figure in his hands.
Either adult would fREAK and Miruna would probably just faint or something from the overwhelming shock of that scene. Alan would def be more composed but still like, he sees Kyle, and then Carmen, and the vomit and he kNOWS what just happened like instinctively, question is would it be take out the kid himself or call the police and 911 and everyone and just . . . shit would go down man.
Really he'd probably freak and scream either way, and the hostages would be def freaking out and just shook and broken like there's no coming back from seeing that.
It would just be all seven levels of HELL

maybe he'd get medical attention in time . . . some prosthetics, and vveeeeerrrrry strong PTSD meds, skin transplants and grafts . . . maybe some time in the psych ward on suicide watch. . . and a lot of psychotherapy (and maybe some trauma counseling . . . a lot of trauma counseling . . . for a few decades . . . or the rest of his life . . .) ignore probability and logic, he'd survive . . . (granted he might not want to survive that . . .)

Poor Ernest. Actually, at this rate, "Poor Character's name" is gonna be my catchphrase from here on out. I feel bad for them all. But yeah, still can't believe just how close the guy was to getting swallowed. Dude will probably have horrid PTSD from this if the other things happening in his life already hasn't given him it.
