Except I see the idea being slightly different:
The initial nindo only means "never regret your decisions", but the addition means "never stop progressing".
Which is EXACTLY the topic we see Hinata expressing in her 64-palm fight vs Mini-Juubi.
She doesn't speak of (MERELY) never giving up - she speaks of (CONSTANTLY) progressing, even if it's "just" one step at a time.
