After Helm's Deep. In that battle, it is said that Gimli was wounded but saved by his helm and hard head while separated from Aragorn and Legolas, only to surpass Legolas' count.A little follow up sketch to this one , with a similar concept. (except that this is based on an actual situation of the Two Towers.)

Lovely! Again I love the colors in this. I like how Gimli's expression is almost annoyed as if he's just humoring his friends and I love Legolas' hair flowing out in the breeze a bit. I like your dark haired Legolas, but I prefer blond because you know-blond father so genetics.

Thanks again! I feel that Gimli is quite gruff on the outside, but also quite sensitive. I do tend to go back and forth sometimes between a dark haired and a blond Legolas in my mind. It varies for me. And I agree, with Thranduil being blond, I also sometimes settle on blond for Legolas or a fair blond, which I think can suit his character just as well. I think I've finally settled on a dirty or darkish blond or light brown for his hair -- though sometimes I prefer to give him darker brown. I still don't have him 100%, though I think I'm getting closer and closer to the image I have in my mind.
