I've you've seen some of the photos I've uploaded here you might guess (correctly) that this was inspired by my visit to Kew. As well as the obvious influence, it was leaf shapes that led to the swirly green in the background, though I ended up with more feathery shapes.Obviously the peacock's plumage is a bit stylised, and I was trying to make the colour scheme and composition work more than anything.
Coloured pencils on beige-y coloured paper.

This is absolutely breathtaking; I love peacocks, and this is beautiful. I adore the design of his frock coat, and the peacock is beautifully done (the stylisation works really well). I like his hair and wings, too, and for some reason, the folds of his trousers look really well done. Nice work!

Beautiful colours here - and the stylised feathers look fantastic indeed. The greenery is also rather divine, and I can definately see where your Kew inspiration came from here...The crown is a beautiful addition as well, especially with what looks to be the tatoo on his thigh.

*gape* such colour! The detail in the feathers is amazing. The greens reds and blues...and you did all that with coloured pencils. Just amazing! The wings are so cool. You don't see enough wings nowadays that arn't all black...or all white. Nice to see a change in plumage(sp?). Dig his pants. High up, with buttons. Looks like a gentleman of ye olden times. Goes well with his coat. Though no tophat. Handsome birdie bishie, and lovely art!
