Final on TumblrWIP 1 WIP 2 WIP 3
Based on 's fic Unwritten, the title for this is twofold:
1. Despite a disgusting number of attempts, I never managed to draw Sarah as she was supposed to be, and every time she ended up unforgivably awkward. This sat as a sketch for months, but I didn't want to completely scrap it because I liked what I already had. A lesson in pre-planning out your perspective can be found in here somewhere. Anyway, with respect to my goals for this, it is, quite literally, 'unfinished.'
2. His Nibs has some unfinished business with the mysterious woman (CoughSarahCough) that keeps summoning him, and our heroine's got some 'splaaaaiinin' to doooo. Hence the crawling out of the painting awesomeness. I guess this is spoilery if you haven't read the fic. Sorry. Though, I could be purposefully misinforming you. You won't know until you've read it. >>;

Is this Labyrinth? It's good to see someone else remembers that. It created a huge portion of my imagination, and it's a always a beauty to watch, exactly because of this.

Yep, it's from Labyrinth. Well, more or less; this one's based on a Labyrinth fanfic, at any rate. (For such an old film, it still has a surprisingly active fandom.)

Well, to be fair, your imagery is wonderful, and Jareth crawling out of a painting was begging and pleading to be drawn. I just wish Sarah had been more cooperative in this instance.

I agree that it's perfect. My favorite part is the fact he's going through a mirror. I started writing some labyrinth things if you want to read it. Mirrors are involved in one of them.

WOW. I saw the title and said (out loud...), "If this is 'unfinished', what does 'finished' look like?!" This is quite stunning.

Loved the artwork and the story. At first I thought he was coming out of a mirror (which I could see happening since Sarah uses a mirror to talk to the denizens of the Underground and hey, crystals are close enough) but this was a much cooler idea.

Yeah, you're not the first. I thought, after the fact, that I should have put some sort of texture on the canvas to make it more obvious that it was a painting. Maybe, at some point, I'll go back and do that. c:

I guess there's some latent talent involved, but it's mostly not giving up after drawing years and years worth of crappy drawings. xD Eventually, they become less crappy.

Loove this idea. I really like the concept of Jareth breaking out of the painting. At first, I thought it was him forcing himself out of the Labyrinth book. That would have been pretty cool too. XD Again, great job!

No problem! ^-^ And lol yeah, I always wanted to do a fanfic where Sarah was actually a part of the Labyrinth and was Jareth's queen and the book was a story she wrote. Then somehow she was expelled from their world into ours and had no memory of it since she was reborn. And after Jareth found out what happened to her, he brought the book into her new world so that she could remember him and their realm.
