Description From the classic long-running Filmation series "Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids".

A few weeks ago, I finally saw the Fat Albert movie. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

One of the scenes that stood out for me is when Fat Albert meets his creator, Bill Cosby. He finds out from him that he was able to enter the real world to help a girl named Doris, because his character is based on Doris's grandfather who Bill was friends with during his childhood, who recently died. At the end of the film she and all the people the characters were based on from the show visited his grave to bid him farewell. It was pretty moving.
The animation that was in the movie was really good too. But other than that, the movie's just so-so.

Idk why, but the rap from the Fat Albert movie reminded me of Hasta La Vista from Camp Rock.

Imagine if they used their original designs, and kept Rudy's personality, in the film. I don't like the fact of FOX turning Rudy into a smooth talking gentleman. His bad-boy personality was a real performance. Fat Albert refusing to return to his animated home because of Doris's attractive foster sister? That's bulls***! The true Fat Albert would be loyal, and would know better. I would find it adorable to see Fat Albert stuff his face and chow down, but apparently the gang only eats if they're scripted to.

Although despite my hatred towards this movie, I absolutely love the re-drawn designs in the animated segments. Russell looked so cute! The movie should've been all animated.

Ah, the movie. Yeah, I thought that ending was very sentimental too. Not bad for a so-so movie. Nice pic, Alex. And you're right, the animation seems more smoother than the old days.

Well, it's not hard to have better animation than the original. Filmation is infamous for having limited and recycled animation. Moreso than Hanna-Barbera.

Ha, I like that depth-of-field effect you've got going on there.

I remember seeing the movie when it came out in theaters. Before then, my parents got me a 4-disc DVD set of the original series, and I loved it. So watching it allowed me to get acquainted with the characters before seeing the movie. Though I admit, the character designs used in the animated segments are a lot better than the ones used in the show, LOL.

I like the designs in the movie too. Less offensive portrayal actually.
I actually had difficulty deciding if I should do that style instead, but I settled with blending the old style with my own.
