A friend suggested that coloring the outlines to my characters would be an improvement.This is also the first time I vector inked a drawing entirely in Flash, as opposed to Photoshop.
Troy's a character from my "Kassandra" cartoon.
I have no idea why I drew him in that pose, I saw it in a cartoon and thought it would be something silly.

Looks great, I especially like the pose.
Coloured outlines have been pretty much used since when cartoons turned to colour., it's only become more widley used now as you don't have some poor guy painting in all the lines manually.
The most interesting character that has a coloured outline to me is Daffy Duck as they use white instead of using a darker colour.
I never dreamed of animating in flash beforehand as I could never get the lines to look right, it funny now as the other week I found that if I use the pencil tool opposed to the brush tool (which everyone tells me to use) I can get the style of lines I want.
So are you going to be doing a Casandra cartoon next?

I always preferred using line or other vector based tools to ink my drawings over using the brush. I've been practicing for four years and my hand's just not steady enough to get the smooth lines I want with brushes. I tried using vectors for the first time in a while on the recent Conroy Cat cartoon, and I like how it came out.
I was planning to make a Kassandra cartoon next, but I think I'll focus a little more on making more Toons These Days shorts.

He heh. I had the opposite. My hand was steady enough but the computer decided it wanted to draw the lines differently.
Although I am a lot better at drawing now, I've just got to maker my self draw faster.
At least you're happy with the lines, I take that it has made it easier for you now
I was going to ask if you wanted me to help out with the Kassandra cartoon as I'm building up my voice acting profile as I won't be busy over the next four months.
It also leaves me some time to work on my show for the first time in years! Commissioners here I come!

I litterally had to look up motorcity, he he I don't watch cartoons as much anymore.
Well actually I don't watch much TV thanks to university, although I do rewatch old cartoons; I'm currently on Back to the Future the animated series.

I think MLP has brought an increase in popularity for coloring the outlines, but I'm personally not a fan. it get's rid of a lot of the character.
Maybe color the internal lines, and leave the external ones black.

I tried that before, sort of, back with my Dtoons Bash pics. I actually like how those turned out more to be honest.
