Of course they can't just carry the armor and not wear it, or even just give it back to you, they have throw it on the ground and show you they're not taking any more of your crap.Related content

I spent forever searching for the NCR armor I had given ED-E so I could sneak out of the prison during the retaking... Ended up having to stealth kill another NCR trooper for their armor. Then I found out they drop it and I went back to the place I'd given it to ED-E and sure enough... I was all, "Son of a *bleep*!"

I'm really late to the game, but I found this out with the exact same armor.Β Especially as the thing is heavy.Β Unfortunately I did it inside where a merchant was, and for some reason that meant that picking it up would be stealing.Β Never mind that it was never stolen before, it was suddenly owned, and not by me.

and to think i was carrying that darn powersuit thing since i found it on that centaur's nest near black mountain just because i tough it looked badass on fallout 3... and i was, okay okay i carry the faction and metal armor, you carry everything else -loads followers with other junk i was planning to sell-

Actually, ED-E and Rex can take faction armor because they can't wear armor
You must've had an older version of the game, I think they fixed it in a newer patch.

For me it is actualy really hard to find faction power armor. I usually end up with the neutral stuff I can give to anyone no matter their status on power amour training.

This amused me greatly XD It reminded me of the time this exact thing happened to me (trying to give a suit of power armor to Boone), when I first started playing the game and wasn't really aware of how faction armor worked.

only veronica can were BoS Armor, but everyone else can were NON-faction armor. except Lily, she can't were any armor, period.

Holy Crap... This happened to me... EXACTLY this... Except the female character... I love Boone's Spotter ability, so I keep him around for that, and his awesome shootin' skills... And I had ED-E, because Rexie wasn't available yet...
