Where does this "mah boi" stuff come from, anyway? I've seen a few things related to this phrase on DA before. A new (or old?) fad?

"Mah boi" is a quote from one of the Zelda CD-i games. It's what the King says. Search up "mah boi" on Youtube and you'll find your answer. : ) It is common in quite a bit of Youtube Poop.

Yep. That is indeed what it implies. The CD-i system was a CD-ROM based system that was released some time in the early-mid 90's. Nintendo gave some of their rights to the company who made the system and so, 3 Legend of Zelda games and a Mario game were made. Which, weren't made by Nintendo at all.
