Well...since some ppl asked me about how I paint, so...here is my semi-realism painting method. This is just a trial design of my OC Helios, I'm still experimenting to find the right look of him which fits with what I have in mind.Final result:
Hope it gives you a little idea about how I do it.
By the way, I won't be here until April 20 due to National Exam. OTL Sorry for not replying.

I dont really get how you got from frame 4 to frame 5. Did you shift things around with the blur tool or something? It just has a lot of subtle differences.

How did you go from black and white to color? Did you just have to go over it and use the black and white shading as guild lines or change the hue?

It looks pretty great, but you lost a bit of expression between #3 and #6... still amazing though!

This looks great. I haven't done any semi-realistic digital painting yet. Is it pretty common to work up a full black and white "underpainting" (for lack of a better word, thanks to this "useless" old-school art degree!

I was gonna use this method but I couldn't find a way to make it work. This is a pretty nice way to make it work! But it's not as efficient on fabric or metal surfaces.

Wow this is amazing, so realistic and easy to follow! Wonderful work, I love the idea of shading it all in greyscale before adding color, I'll have to try it!

Seriously though, you should've just stopped at stage 3. I don't fancy at all how the lips turned out in the end. Sure, it's a matter of taste, and the final result is really well made and all, but I think that he'd be a lot more handsome if u had sticked to the original shape in the end ^^
