Thank you very much Gabe. I strayed from that design here and there, but I did love the feel of it, so it's still obvious it's the influence. I love woodzilla's take, as usual, but it was so different that I just had it open for contrast really. Woodzilla is wonderfully consistent with this anatomical choices, that all his stuff looks like variations of the same base. Nothing wrong with that, it's what I like about it. And while I always dig it, I couldn't use any of it. I also LOVE Sean S's close up of the head. So, I tried to mimic that some.Β

Anytime. It's almost the same case with me when I'm either doing a sculpt or drawing. It works out better when you have variations of the same design that you can use to influence your own adaptation.
I also definitely agree about Wood's Art. Much of his work does follow the same basic anatomical layout, but each new piece is different at the same time. To be honest he is probably the most consistent artist I have ever met.(In terms of keeping the overall look in the same family). In fact most of my CKC kaiju illustrations/sketches were based much around his work.
But I can understand that was well. Especially with the type of detailed work you're doing. It is good to have a more detailed veiw if the character. Woodzilla is great but much if his work doesn't have a lot of detail. Though I'm seeing improvement.
