BobakzArt [2010-02-04 00:00:54 +0000 UTC]

beautiful color scheme. My only criticism is that the clouds in the middle are more like clouds on Earth. Clouds in space look a bit different so it easily caught my eye. Neat brushwork though. Keep up the good work.

Thank you for you comment, I'm glad you like it.
I completely agree with your criticism: I'm trying to improve my nebula technique. Hope can get something better than this.

OMG stunning! Unbelievable how much work you have done on the starfields! How long did you work on it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DottGonzo In reply to pharotek [2010-01-20 16:39:31 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, but the starfield itself didn't take me as long as you think. For this starfield I followed a tutorial by the great Greg Martin (you can get it by googleing greg martin tutorial) with some minor variations.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

pharotek In reply to DottGonzo [2010-01-20 21:42:36 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for the tip
I just saw that people only use a plain star-field picture without putting any thoughts in it. And in yours there are a few bigger and brighter ones which automatically give the picture a bit more depth

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DottGonzo In reply to pharotek [2010-01-20 21:56:16 +0000 UTC]

No problem buddy!
The very big stars are in effect little lens flares (filter, render, lens flare in photoshop), to wich I then change color.
[I feel sorry for my english, but you understand me, right? ]

pharotek In reply to DottGonzo [2010-01-20 22:09:45 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, your english ain't that bad like some peoples
Yeah I noticed that a few are lens flares, its a classic trick

Very nice, I like your attempt at the nebula. Although it does look very cloudy to me. Try adding in some other effects, like painting in some darker details to the bottom of the nebula to add more depth.

Great job though!

DottGonzo In reply to GamerWorld14 [2010-01-19 11:49:53 +0000 UTC]

Your perfectly right! I know, it's the real problem of this picture.
Right now, with my brand new wacom tablet (), I'm trying a new technique for the nebula: only brush tool. Let's see what I can get.

Thank you for the suggestions, and for the fav! I really appreciate!
