His name as a youth in India was actually 'Darshan', but changed it to 'Christian' after he was baptized as a young man. It soon became 'Kristjian' because he would mockingly pronounce it the way that his Armenian friend did, and soon decided he actually preferred the name because it had more flair.
A lot of his important life decisions are made in such ways...
