Sherry Birkin & Steve Burnside.I'm not even a huge fan of either character but the fact that such cliffhangers were created that have stretched on for years now keeps me interested... until maybe some time soon. I'm talkin' about Darkside Chronicles.
My random feelings/predictions of the game:
Well, Fail-Shooter as stated above. It probably won't be all that great story wise OR gameplay. I have original UC and it's really only decent fun with 2 players. I do play it alone and have beaten most of it and it can be alright at times, but meh. It's just another sloppy (and wasted) remake on what could of been awesomeness extreme. A watered down story line of RE2 and RECV, fucking with the canon, it's just ugh. And plus, if you haven't heard, Leon get's an all new scenario in..... South... America????? Okay?
I also have a feeling they're going to totally fuck over our expectations of Sherry and Steve. They're probably going to give us answers similar to 'why Umbrella is fucking GONE' from RE4 bullshitness. My guess is they're going to totally nix the fact Wesker hinted at a return of Steve and just say he's flat out dead. And for Sherry, they'll probably just be like Oh BTW lawl, she's been fine all along despite the Wesker Report (which apparently isn't even canon, since the real canon is Claire A Leon B) But yeah, I just have a really bad feeling they're going to give just a big a slap in the face as they did with 'BEE TEE DUBB! UMBRELLA IS GONE LOL.'

All that BS aside, and completely ignoring Cpacoms craptastic excuses of 'canon'...
I like to imagine that Sherry, being so young was probably easy to manipulate into thinking all was good and well by Being with Wesker/Umbrella/whoever. Besides, Wesker and William were close friends, so it's probably certain that he knew Sherry in at least some sort of way, and vice versa. So with some smooth talking and manipulation, she probably is tested on willingly since there's something 'special' about her. (Prolly G Virus and Devil vaccine in her system). So sort of like... both an accepted part of Umbrella's team, but a test subject at the same time.
Steve on the other hand, honestly his story isn't as compelling to me as Sherry's but the fangirl in me wants to cook up some kinda story and believe he's alive or resurrected or whatever. Though, I doubt Steve would be all too willing. Since Steve has the last sample of T-Veronica in existence, and his form is able to shift from hulking monster to normal human, it'd be kinda cool if that was utilized to a much more sense-making and non-shitty 'action controlling' device on him (rather then the shit they cooked up in RE5). Like, if they found a way to harness his changing abilities and be able to trigger it at will, basically forcing him to be a test subject slave.
This is where it gets gay. Kinda. Fangirl moment. I could also imagine since Wesker (allegedly) took both Sherry and Steve personally, chances are they'd meet up or at least hear of one another. It'd be pretty crazy, how they both know Claire and love her in their own certain ways, yet don't even know that fact and come off as strangers. The gay fangirl in me also can see their own relationship forming, like Sherry despite being raised by Wesker/Umbrella still feels sorry for the young man who always seems to be in pain and unwilling to be kept in the lab. Maybe to a point of sneaking in to speak with him personally, and all sorts of dramatastic situations. Like how fuckin' hilariously day-time soap opera would it be if Sherry fell for Steve? Then Claire shows up like "I'm here to save yo-- OHHH FUCK NO YOU DI'INT!"

Yayz some Steve/Sherry fanservice!~ Anyways, I always admired your work leggy (both drawing and animations) and I can't animate to save my life. I would have commented long time ago (found this a very long while back), but I didn't have a deviant account at that time. Oh for RE6, I was super estatic that Sherry came back (I'm always playing as her, hands down), but I used to not like Jake because he wasn't Steve, was Wesker's son and he was pretty mean from what I saw. But he was actually a very good partner (waaaaaay better than Sheva.) and he doesn't seem TOO bad. I just didn't like how everyone paired them like they knew each other for a long time. Oh well I respected their opinion, so I don't mind. So, in short: I wish Jake was Steve...Or I would have been hoppin all over the place like no tomorrow. They always have to leave out the very interesting ones. At least they brought back ONE...So I have to appriciate that. I didn't want to buy ORC and RE4 because I didn't think it was worth my money. I bought RE5 because I need to get back on track (only have RE, Darkside, Umbrella, and bought CVX recently) and it only cost less than 14 bucks...I hope RE6 would be worth my money because I'm getting it for my birthday and I hope that it's worth my Steve Burnside and Japan cosplay money. To tell you the truth, this is what I thought Sherry would have looked like. And I sorta expected CAPCOM to be a /little/ better than that...Nyahh...I hope you can tolerate my weird rant cuz this is the longest rant I've ever done. and I cannot keep track of it. One more note...CAPCOM should really stop annoying us...It's kinda a little dissapointing that they tricked us in the end. Well life gives us lemon and I make hentai...I better find my way to make myself recover from all that nonsense.

Yeah, I'll just say aside from the AI helpers (all seem equally efficient) Jake's personality is already annoying. As in, he acts like how every single other male character has been turned into anymore. Full of lame one liners trying to be WAY TOO COOL, MAN!!!!

Yeah, other than that...I find myself becoming a hypocrite every time I play the demo. When I think I can do the level without his help, I end up clinging to him, but hey, I love to annoy him...even though they try to make them cool, it doesn't seem to affect me, unless its sherry who's talking (dang, she was the only reason I wanted the game. I only have my demo). I always thought he was a jerk, but then at the same time, he is nearly a male version of my sister...I sorta miss the old version...I still have my old original copy of resident evil and resident evil code Veronica. Actually, the only thing I do in re5 is play mercenaries with my sister and re6 is for co op play.

Like Vincent. Before I played the demo, I found out that jakes voice actor was from the game Catherine. Ever heard of it? And Sherry's voice actor from DSC is also there. It's a side game that I play other than Resident evil. Okay back on topic...my first try on the game was Jake's campaign. Turns out it was the hardest level in the demo. Very embarrassing...maybe I should have done Leon's first....

I don't even try to fight. But it's pretty funny that they do the gangnam style dance when they die. So I sing it for their funeral song. Oh you know that closet you can hide in? Well it's like playing Slenderman and Ao Oni. I hide, but I get caught by my partner...no matter where I am, he follows...well in my game...

I haven't even seen anyone die, any time I got knocked over I got saved right away. I never even needed to heal.... or use a gun for that matter.

No I meant the lizards dying... And I die alot since I'm still trying to get used to the controls. But now I die less I get saved right away too. Though I die when I get cornered. Big brother Jake can't seem to get past those lizards blocking the way, ganging up on me...

RE 4 is a good game in my country everyone plays it
RE 5 well everyone is agreing that sucks but i cant agree with RE 4 it just makes me mad
Leggy i know that youe dissapointed in RE series but think of it every game of RE blows in these days
the first 3 where good games in they time but you could finish it in a hour and a half
the RE 4 and the game with jill on a boat ,terrascilium ect. most epic boos fight in the RE (i always forget whats it called)
are pretty descent games the operation raccon city they could have make it more but still people play it
now its the RE 6 part its a 50:50 that it suck
but you need to realize that games are evolving some good some bad we can always share memories that we had playing them and hope for a rennesance era of gaming

I dunno, even if the originals are short they had a lot of replay value, extra characters to play as and other things. I always like them the most!

so is in the re 4 i know every gold ,ammo,flashbang,ect where to find
and in the mercenaries you could play as hunk,wesker,and your least favorite ada wong but not as the side mission its more killing and making time and there is a side campaign with ada xD
ether way i will not accept that RE 4 is as RE 5
somehow that replay value that you mentioned has in every RE game no matter how worse it is and well if i find a companion that want to play mercenaries in RE 5 with me i would be happy to

I know the other games had mini things too but, I just meant that so did the old ones. They have more replay value for me anyway, I honestly hate playing RE4. I tried playing it again a few days ago and it was so bad I got bored and quit. RE2 on the other hand I can pick up at any time and always have a lot of fun.

bosses are to easy to kill few magnum bullets and they drop dead
i love the old games for ps1 but when you recognize how ther are truly boring and funny in a said way like the tarantulas you just passe by them they dont do nothing the plant thingis you just run or burnem they dont move and ther are more examples
if they make another remake maybe i would played it

Yeah, but I think the series has gone on for so long and has gotten so bad in the story that it wouldn't even make sense for Steve to be brought back anymore. The one who took him is dead, the corporation is gone, I don't even get why the series is still alive to be honest.

I concur. Though one of the earlier comments discussed that there would've been some mention of Sherry being involved with Umbrella/Wilpharma/Tricell and Steve would've been mentioned as being alive, they forget that the whole series is supposed to span the globe.
0 through 3 were in the midwestern US, but Umbrella Chronicles is in Russia, Darkside Chronicles is in South America near the Amazon River, Revelations is confirmed to be set in Europe, Code: Veronica takes place on an island that's miles off of the coast in Chile and over by the Ross Ice Shelf, 4 is in northern Spain, and 5 is in sub-Saharan Africa.
The point is that each facility doesn't necessarily know exactly what every other facility is doing. Even The Dark Id, that one Let's Player, pointed out that each of the facilities was working on something completely different and there didn't appear to be any communication about what they were doing.
Let alone the debate of how one would go about extracting a virus from a dead body... (Seriously, is that even possible?) And how did Wesker even know Steve's name? He was dead by the time Wesker showed up to take his corpse and he couldn't have been spying on Steve and Claire when Steve mutated, because of him and Chris fighting Alexia. I see a plot-hole... Maybe I'm wrong though. I haven't been able to play Code: Veronica or Code: Veronica X.

I thought the 'Chronicles' games were great (Except for the mockery of RE3) and sort of hoped for more of Stevie. I think he could come back. I think he could actually work well as a unwilling super-powered servant to a bad guy, who actually has a DECENT REASON to be held by Wesker or some other person, as opposed by a certain SOMEONE... named Jill.
I don't know if sherry will come back. It was interesting that the government is "is taking very good care of her," but they didn't leave it open for more development. Maybe, though...
Regardless, Great work! To me it has sort of a different feel than your other work, but I can't place why.

Chronicles were semi-fun, but that's about it for me. And after playing Dorkside Chronicles.... man, DC has very convenient gameplay and options and such, it makes playing UC almost... unplayable @_@ Then again, I suck so. XD

Something I thought was odd was that the two new villains from these games looked like VAMPIRES. Seriously. I love 'em, but Sergei does the little sip of blood thing with his knife, and Havier sounds and looks like a vampire. I love RE villains so much ^-^

But yeah, Darkside wasn't as bad as I thought; Though I'm kinda mixed feelings'd about the RE2 ending. part of me is glad Leon was forced into being an agent for the government. It's almost metaphorical like... Yeah Leon would never do something so retarded as that, the military, aka Capcom forced him to do it XD
And the Sherry thing, I can't tell if they answered it or not. The whole Wesker Report teetering on cannon or non-cannon still baffles me. From what I heard, Capcom was like lol, never happened. And I guess from the RE2 Darkside ending their 'answer' is just Hurrrrr she's with da military all this time, wut you mean kidnapped? It's all so stupid though, they really need to make up their minds.
But for Steve, if anything they still at least left that kind of a mystery. Claire was all I'LL BE BACK!!!111 talking as if there was still hope or something, and even though they referred to him as a 'body'... I dunno, it didn't seem quite final.

Same here. I actually really enjoyed it. For awhile I couldn't put it down. I even got the RE Wii Zappper gun for my lover who was having wrist problems while playing. It kida helps out with that. xD
I'm not one for shooter games usually, but the fact it was set up much like the House of the Dead games they have in the arcades forced me to at least try and I was quite pleased with the results.
[Dont have to spend $20 in quarters either!] Whoo hoo!
Plus after that I found out they had house of the dead for the Wii too. Haha. x3
