Description This is the first in a new weekly project i've set for myself; each week i'll pick a folktale, a creature, a hero or myth and illustrate the heck out of it, because who doesn't love metal, monsters, beards and chainmail? Nobody, thats who.

You can follow me on Twitter (@douglasbot) for updates or, you know, come back in a week for the next topic!

And now what?
WillΒ Vitazko free the gryphon, and then they become friends?
The gryphon looks soooooo fluffy andΒ badass.
Looks like some kind of giraffe gryphon.

Is the name of the character from the folktale that i based the illustration on. You can read it here - [link]

Thanks. How did you ever come across this ? Do you collect stories from the old continent ? (reads a little further...) Ha ! I knew it : If you read Preface again it says : "The first two stories ("Twelve Months,"
" Vftazko ") have been retold by the novelist
Bozena Nemcov4 (from the Slovak)." BoΕΎena NΔ›mcovΓ‘ is a classic novelist from czech romanticism, also collecting folk tales...

I actually think I my have at some point, because the title is very familiar. This does not stop that griffin from being adorable.
