I like the little framed cloud on the pink door. I was a picture framer for twenty years. (on and off)-- Kudos.

When I moved out west my salary was more than cut in half. There are so many artists here, and they all frame pics on the side. It would be impossible to live on a framers' salary out here. I was doing museum quality work back then. (late 1980's) And it didn't matter at all. $4.50 per hour!

..I think it's impossible to live on a framers salary anywhere - it's a notoriously low paying job considering the skill & knowledge that are needed to do a good job ...I once thought I landed a good framers job in Tucson --- the owner showed me around his supermarket sized store for an hour - seemed to be promising me the stars -- that I would soon become manager ....then said the starting salary was 5 bucks an hour -- ( I was getting 15 in Canada ) ---- I couldn't beleive it....but the Tucson is a very low wage town.....my problem with the Southwest - is that I LOVE the landscapes -- but not the cities , so much -- just gas stations and malls it seemed .

Yep, it's low wage everywhere out here. "Right to work" states, meaning no unions, no representation of any kind, no solidarity, and the only way to get by are these crazy three way horse trades, where I'll fix your car if you re-roof my brothers back bedroom. His wife will babysit the kid for two years. etc,etc.

...lol ! --- OK when all the deals work to everyone's benefit --- but not much of a safety net down there if you fall on your ass ..... survival of the fittest I think .... but I guess that can keep one sharp and in the game.
