Description
"You want a fight, hm? Well you've got one."
Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon AU where your partner doesn't make it out of that hell-scape and stays stone. The main character, Din, with a newfound hatred for Yveltal and Dark Matter, takes things into her own hands. Little does she know that hatred is exactly what feeds Dark Matter's energy, and she's got a lot of it.

Awww that actually has me feeling bad for DM 0: I've always wondered if DM is just an entity that exists because it really, well, it just does. Hate exists, and if you happen to be the corporeal entity that's made up of it then it's not you're fault!

gosh now I'm really inspired to!! It makes me want to find a way to use them in my story, even though it's based on a timeline paradox after Explorers of Sky and not much about the stuff surrounding DM
Heck I might have to do some sketches anyways, I was pretty young and hadn't cared much about DM at the time but now I'm more than intrigued >u>

my headcanon: as an entity that appears as a caged ball and then a bigger ball of pure hate I got to thinking that if it tried to form as something else, the form it took just wouldn't be sufficient enough to hold all the hate within itself, and it sort of lets some steam off of it, literally. I think if they tried to do something other than exist, the pokemon they travel with would be like "haha yeah nobody is going to think a big hate ball is normal unless it's a voltorb" so they try other forms, and DM finds that the larger the Pokemon, the easier it is to contain the hate within their body and not make it spread around (though they had a fondness for the existential crisis that is ditto). Since they're spooky, DM usually takes the form of ghost types like Chandelure and Cofagrigus, sometimes Dusknoir and after they learn about them- Darkrai.
As they practice it becomes easier to contain everything and disguise in a less... menacing manner.
of course this was a little concept I got from our conversation, so I'm bound to come up with something completely different!

thanks! I figured an almost... primitive, so to speak, being of energy, would maintain a dark purple, spooky form because it's hate and well- I guess my DM wouldn't really understand, if even be able to, disguise as anything not terrifying to children.

I hadn't even seen your Dark Matter skin doodle, but it's interesting how similar they are in design aa. Of course, DM still looks a little spooky, but there's not any hate coming off except in the back hair, which is safely out of the way of contaminating other Pokemon below, considering how giant they are. With practice, they'd probably be able to make their form less and less dark.

Fight the literal embodiment of hatred in the world with hatred.... yeah I can't see anything going wrong with that plan Then again they're only human, feeding hate is kind of what we do.

Yeah, I don't think the main character (at least in this AU) knows that hatred feeds Dark matter so hating hatred is going to make hatred stronger and- yeah- they kinda just dug a hole for themselves there rip
