I especially like the paint strokes at the bottom indicating force along the ground. This may be one of my favorite horse drawings.

It's super easy.
Put it on a layer set to multiply, overlay, soft-light, or lowering the opacity, plus combinations of all the former. There are several tutorials on this site and other places on the net that can teach more specific techniques.
