Ash knows a lot about the world around her and is very strategic about her actions and plans. She always thinks before she acts or speaks, considering the cause and effect of everything she does. She knows when to hold her tongue or allow other to think they’ve ‘won’ even when she knows (or think she knows) she’s correct. She has extensive knowledge about injuries and how/what to treat them with. With a natural curiosity, Ash seeks out to find answers for that she does not know.( even if that means asking someone else)
{Insecure}(Conceited)
“Respect my rank!” Is something Ash thinks a lot. She conceders herself higher than other ranks, but doesn’t necessarily project it at all times. This trait tends to come out more when she’s angry, disrespect is something she won’t tolerate. As the healer, she expects everyone to respect her in that manner and does her best to prove that she’s worthy of her title. She’s quick to judge and often holds a cat to their first impression unless they prove themselves otherwise.
{Realistic/ Mature}
This is a trait Ash believes her rank must have. She’s not over positive when it comes to major injuries. If she doesn’t think a wound will heal, she does little to convince herself otherwise and instead focuses on finding a solution. She sometimes ‘sees the glass half empty’, looking for flaws in a plan to make sure they won’t fail due to wishful thinking. Most of the time she holds a serious attitude toward life, but this doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a sense of humor. She’s not the one to make a joke, but it wouldn’t be past her to laugh at one.
{Motherly}
Caring and protective, Ash would do almost anything to help her patients. She would protect ‘her responsibility’ with her life if it came down to it, as it’s likely the injured were protecting her in the first place. She’s got a soft spot for younger cats, apprentices and cubs are ‘her weakness.’ She can’t ignore a cute face for her life. She feels bad that ‘cubs are being pushed into mature situation, forcing them to be a gladiator before they’ve been a cub.’ In the inverse, immature gladiators get her rage.( “You should know better!” “Stop acting like a cub!”) She can have a sharp tongue when it comes to scolding someone, (“I told you not to walk on that paw!” ) but that’s mostly because she cares for their health.

Ash would leave no debt unpaid, she’s set in her ways and believes in doing what she thinks is right. She feels like she’s constantly ‘paying’ for the protection , food and shelter Air Empire has given her, making her fiercely dedicated to the service she provides for her empire. However, She’s not afraid to go against the code or her leader’s word to be morally correct. This is a trait she highly admires in others.

Background/Other

History
Ash was born in the coliseum like most cats, but she never fought in the arena. As a cub she was able to hide among storage crates and boxes in abandoned parts of the coliseum. Her parents were both fighters who fell into the unfortunate destiny that many fell into, dead. Growing up as a young cub, she lived off scraps left behind by careless humans. There were many times when she had been spotted by the watchful eyes of humans and forced into a cage, but she always managed to find a way to escape. She would often hide in the infirmary where the humans worked on injured favorites of the coliseum; the weak where left to die. She learned many things from silently observing from a distance, everything but fighting skills. She never learned how to hold her own in a battle, just how to hide and run from the enemy. On the day Ash escaped from the coliseum, she ran as far as she could. She ran over the hills and fields until she reached Air Empire. With deep gratitude she accepted their invite, offering her knowledge in return for shelter, food and protection.

Fears:
Water- Ash can’t swim and doesn’t like getting her paws wet. The only time she gets near the river is to get a drink, gather herbs, or cross the border. To cross she usually uses the branches of tall trees spanning the river, or dry, sturdy looking rocks. Ash keeps this a secret though, not wanting others to see this as a flaw.

I suppose you can’t really pin a label on a cat based one reckless decision, but it seems as if this apprentice has a death wish or something. If he thinks he can handle bounty hunters, I’ll let him go. I’ll welcome him into the infirmary too, since that’s where he’s going to end up.
