Thanks. I used one of those folding tent boxes that diffuses the light. I got a set for Christmas with a couple lights and a small and large tent. Works really well. I'll have some more photos from this shoot once I finish converting the RAW files.

coolio! I have one of those tent boxes but it's white. What software do you use to convert? I use either Paint shop pro, but more often now I use Adobe Lightroom 2 and it converts a whole batch at once to DNG - I love that program!

Camera raw with Photoshop CS4. I also have lightroom 2. It's a really good program, but I just don't use it as much. With CS4/Camera Raw I've got a basic progression I go through. It's just what I've gotten used to. I haven't tried DNG yet. I've seen some tutorials that have mentioned it.
The tent boxes I use are also white. Each came with 3 velvety background sheets that velcro to the back and bottom(black, blue, red). Pretty schnazzy, I'll be looking for more items that will fit in them

I would love to get CS4 - just can't do it right now moneywise Lightroom 2 automatically converts to DNG on import - which is nice - and it's not supposed to be lossy - so since I don't have CS4 I will have to do this for now - but I do plan on getting it someday....My tent is 2 x 2 and also has those inserts but they're shiny smooth - which is a little weird. I would like the velvety kind.

I guess that's context that I heard DNG in. The compatibility with more programs. The price on CS4 is way to high. It is a great program though. I was lucky that since I had elements I got a half price offer on CS3 from Adobe. I just couldn't pass that up. Once you get a Photoshop it's much less to get the upgrades(still not cheap, but less). Weird that the inserts would be shiny. The velvet type is nice since it absorbs light, getting rid of any reflection/glare in the background. You could probably pick up some material at a fabric store that would work.

I have elements didn't get an offer from adobe (throwing self on floor now) It is high, but I can get an academic discount from academicsuperstore which probably puts it at the same half price range. But that's still almost 300 bucks. I can probably find some velvet at the fabric store to use sometime. Thanks for the idea!

An academic discount is pretty nice too And it shouldn't be to hard to stick a little velcro on some fabric
