Description
“In my midnight confessions,
When I tell the whole world that I love you,
In my midnight confessions,
When I say all the things that I want to….”
Presenting the second abstract I ever did—I think it was with this one that I realized I like doing abstracts that have themes, primarily being named after oldies songs. I’ve tried doing abstracts without a theme song in mind, and it’s never worked.
The instructor at Michaels suggested that I try some brighter colors with this one, and when I did that one white stroke, it gave me the idea for what to do with this. This also started the theme of city abstracts featuring the Shadow—and yet all the ladies at the art class thought it looked like something from Castle. I don’t know, I don’t watch the show, but it took a lot of self-control not to follow the one lady’s suggestion to add a dead body bobbing in the water.
And as always, my main problem with doing abstracts is releasing control and just doing it…the curve of the water bugs the life out of me here, even though you can’t really notice it in the original.
