Description
There are so many characters that have such obnoxious or annoying traits, and there are plenty of characters that are just downright despicable. Either way, a lot these characters never get their comeuppance and go scot-free like the loathsome karma houdinis that they are, and thus, should really pay for all the suffering they have inflicted on other characters. We're counting down the worst of the worst who should get their severe punishment big time. To anyone who for some reason like these characters, do not go through this list, and do not feel angry or offended as this is entirely my opinion. Here we go, my top 10 characters that deserve worse.

#10 D.W. Read (Arthur)
This girl is a spoiled brat through and through. She annoys Arthur, complains a lot, and even in one episode "Arthur's Big Hit," she had destroyed his model plane, causing him to punch her, which results him getting grounded. It only got worse when Binky punched him when he was peer pressured by his cronies just to stay in their group, all to make Arthur learn a rather half-assed lesson that "two wrongs don't make a right." Her "I'm just a kid!" rebuttal is just not an excuse for what she had done, especially when Arthur constantly told her not to touch his model plane, and while we are left to assume that Arthur's parents did punish D.W., we don't see her learning her lesson, and it could imply that they have punished her lightly. If that isn't parental favouritism, then I don't know what is. So yeah, D.W., an annoying brat who needs to get more dose of karma for all the wrong things that she did.

#9: Lucy van Pelt (Peanuts)
All I can say about Lucy is that she is a completely cruel, mean-spirited, vindictive, arrogant bully who takes pleasure in emotionally abusing Linus and Charlie Brown. In many cases, she either hides or threaten to tear up Linus' security blanket, knowing all too well how this causes him to break down. She also tends to force every student, against their will, to go to summer camp, just when they were so excited to make the most out of their well-deserved break from school. But perhaps the worst kind of bullying she does is towards Charlie Brown, which includes belittling him, insulting him, giving him terrible advise whenever she's being his "psychiatrist," and above all, PULLING AWAY THE FOOTBALL FROM HIM causing him to fall on his back, and she had even done that in an important football game, resulting in their team losing and Charlie Brown gets all the blame, which she could not resist to mock him for. What a malicious, nasty b****!

#8: Sarah (Ed, Edd and Eddy)
Yet another horrible, horrible girl who is just as bad as Lucy. She's bad-tempered, loud, bossy, obnoxious, and treats the three Eds like crap. Though there are times where Eddy deserves some comeuppance as he can be a prick sometimes, Ed and Double D do not deserve being lumped with Eddy and getting their share of the punishment when they never do anything wrong for the most part. Needless to say, Sarah enjoys yelling at the Eds, and even threatening to tell her parents on her own big brother, and she would even join in with Kevin in beating them up and name-calling them for no good reason. Just like Lucy and D.W., she acts like she's all innocent and sweet, when really she isn't as she's just as spiteful and bratty as those two. She needs to learn some lessons of her own, like being nicer and more respectful of her big brother aside from doting on Jimmy.

#7: Spike the Bulldog (Tom and Jerry)
Much as I love Tom and Jerry, I don't really like watching the cartoon shorts wherein Spike is in focus. Why is that? Because in most of those shorts, he either serves as Jerry's bodyguard, or threatens to beat up Tom if he ever disturbs him and/or his son Tyke, which Jerry would often take sadistic glee in taking advantage of to make the cat suffer even more. Spike is just another bad-tempered bully who makes it very clear that he has a burning hatred towards cats and even teaches his son to hate cats as much as he does rather than tolerate them. For goodness, sake, have mercy on these poor creatures! What have they ever done to you to make you hate them so much, Spike? I know it's the whole cats vs. dogs shtick which was common trope of the cartoons of the 40s and 50s, but geez, seeing this makes me feel sick to my stomach, especially if it's the cat portrayed as a "villain" just for acting on his instincts. There are some cartoons where Spike doesn't mind Tom all too much and just leaves him alone, but they're so rare.

#6: The Fat Man (Tom and Jerry - Gene Deitch era)
Good lord, this guy is even worse than Spike. This is one of the reasons why I'm not too fond of the Gene Deitch Tom and Jerry cartoons, cause aside from the rather twisted animation, the tone of the violence is beyond the roof! It's way more intense than what William Hanna and Joseph Barbera have ever produced. In these cartoons, Tom gets brutalised in much more painful ways, and whenever that fat guy (often referred to as Clint Clobber) is involved, he's surely in for a big world of hurt, even for the littlest, trivial acts. Doesn't even help that when the man is preparing to pummel Tom, he often bears a menacing grin with rows of sharp teeth before he starts his beating. Somebody ought to sic the RSPCA on that psycho, because this is borderline animal abuse to the worse degree possible. In all seriousness, who thought this kind of content would be seen as "entertainment" and suitable for ANYBODY to watch? Just, why? So awful...

#5: Hector the Bulldog (Looney Tunes)
Oh, boy, yet another cat-hating bulldog to cover. What is it with bulldogs and their hatred towards cats? Hector may not have a son to teach him such horrible ideals, but he rivals Spike in so many ways. Many of the Looney Tunes shorts he appears in, he takes pleasure in being a bully towards Sylvester, even when he's not trying to eat up Tweety (who we'll be getting to pretty soon), and this is basically a running gag in the spin-off show Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries where Sylvester is designated as the show's punching bag despite being the narrator. Even when Sylvester does go through hell in saving Hector's, Tweety's, and Granny's lives, he never gets any credit, and Hector continues on making his life miserable. Such an ungrateful bastard. And in some other cartoons, Hector will bully other cats, particularly Penelope, who is way more innocent than Sylvester. Good thing he gets his comeuppance in the short Go Fly a Kit where he gets outsmarted by a little flying cat when he threatened to hurt an innocent girl cat. Wish there were more shorts like that where Hector faces karma for his bad treatment of cats.

#4: Tweety Bird (Looney Tunes)
If you thought Hector was bad, then you ain't seen nothing yet, because out of all the characters who delight in making poor Sylvester's life a living hell, Tweety takes the cake. Tweety is a pest. Beneath that seemingly "innocent" exterior lies a cruel, nasty, despicable, hate-mongering, cat-killing machine. So many of the shorts he appears is just so aggravating and painful for me to watch nowadays, because that bird delights in tormenting Sylvester, and worse, he's so proud of it as he seems to thrive in taking down those "bad puddy tats." Even in the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit, he doesn't hesitate to show how much of a sadist he is when he decides to play "piggies" by pulling off Eddie Valiant's fingers from a flagpole he was hanging on, and mind you, Eddie was hanging for dear life as the fall was very steep! Tweety is even worse than Granny in that he sics the dogs on Sylvester way more than she does, and since he's always seen as the "hero," he never gets any kind of punishment and continues on living like all is well and dandy at the expense of Sylvester.

#3: Stephen and Linda Stotch (South Park)
These two are without a doubt the worst parents I have ever seen in my entire life. In so many episodes, they physically, mentally, or emotionally abuse Butters, THEIR OWN SON. One episode they even grounded him for making a "stupid face" even though he was just smiling casually, and somehow even the late Ms. Choksondik yelled at him for that. There are other moments where they show what oh, so, great parents they are, like when Linda got crazy after discovering her husband Stephen was visiting gay bath houses that she decided to drown Butters and commit suicide, or when they attempted to sell him off to Paris Hilton under the belief that they will be paid a huge sum of money when she wanted to take him as a pet all dressed as a bear. I will say for certain that Stephen and Linda Stotch are completely unfit to be parents and that they should be punished by being arrested for child abuse that they've committed since way back in season 5.

#2: Itchy (The Simpsons)
Seriously, why do the creators think that having Itchy brutally murder Scratchy would be funny to watch? Now, I have nothing against cartoon violence as long as it's not too over the top and the humour was intentional, but what do we see in the show within the show Itchy and Scratchy? Well, it's just a series of minute-long shorts where Itchy decides to kill Scratchy, even though the cat did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to get what always comes to him! Itchy is just a completely messed up, psychopathic mouse, and the fact that he enjoys murdering Scratchy, right down to laughing as he does these heinous acts, just makes it even worse. Poor Scratchy doesn't deserve to be killed in any of those shorts, and while he does come back every episode, it's just sickening to see him killed off over and over and over again. It would have been awesome to see how that one short where Scratchy finally kills Itchy ended, but alas it was not to be. I wouldn't have minded the duo too much if only there could be a balance of either Itchy or Scratchy being bested, though I would be more satisfied to see Itchy finally be defeated for all the pain he puts Scratchy through.

#1: Sweetie Bird and Elmyra Duff (Tiny Toon Adventures)
Well, well, well, we come to the most depraved and worst characters of Tiny Toons. I'm going to start first talking about Sweetie Bird. She is far more cruel and sadistic than Tweety, that's for sure. While Tweety may be mean-spirited when it comes to dealing with cats like Sylvester, Sweetie cranks it up to eleven by being a total arrogant snob with an incredibly obnoxious talking manner and she is far more brutal with Furrball, tormenting and bullying him in such horrifying ways. To make matters worse, she intentionally goes right up to his face goading him into eating her just so that he can be put through pain for trying to chase and catch her. Her innocent façade is even just too cringe inducing as it's very obvious that she is manipulative, rude and nasty. Poor Furrball just wants to live in a comfy house and no longer in the alley, but that little pink filth has to ruin his day for laughs. Now we get to the kitten's other tormentor, Elmyra Duff. She has a very bad habit of treating animals as if they were toys, unaware how that kind of "love" she gives could potentially kill them, as if she didn't get where and why she has that gerbil skull on her bow. If Furrball's not being messed around by Sweetie, he's being mishandled by Elmyra who squeezes him too tightly or uses him like a toy or other kind of decorative clothing much to the pain and suffering of the poor cat. On top of that, she somehow managed to be part of a crossover spin-off with Pinky and the Brain, which thankfully I never got to watch. It's like, what were they thinking? Of all the Tiny Toons characters they could have done spin-offs on, like Plucky or Hamton or Fifi or even Furrball, they had to pick Elmyra. It's hard for me to decide who of the two is worse, Sweetie or Elmyra, but given how badly they treated Furrball, I'd say they're tied. So yeah, they're the worse characters, Furrball should be safe away from them, and they need to get a taste of their own medicine.
