Description

I know this is pretty late for my Inktober challenge, but, dang it, I really wanted to add this one since it's my personal fan made Grimm. I don't know if it really counts for Inktober since it's late, but eh. I got really occupied with things, but now I'm happy I was able to be motivated to draw this guy out.

So, this is my Grimm OC/fan character: the Questing Grimm/Beast. It's based off of the Arthurian legend of the Questing Beast. I've always wanted to make a Grimmified version of the Questing Beast since it's one of those mythological creatures I always liked aside from dragons.

Keep in mind that this is not my official-official design for this Grimm. This is just a first draft. I'll probably digitalize a full body ref when I get a better idea of what I want for this design. Also, this Grimm is just made for the fun of it. I know I'm not an expert of Grimm, but I just wanted to have a hand of making a Grimm OC/FC for fun.

Anyway, here's a small info dump if anyone's interested in this Grimm. Mind you, I wrote this somewhat quick and it doesn't cover everything with this Grimm, so it may not be as informative as it should. It's kind of supposed to be in the point of view of someone in Remnant to give you an idea/vibe about it. I can answer any questions if need be about this guy:

The Questing Grimm, AKA the Questing Beast, is an ancient Creature of Grimm Grimm that had existed since the dawn of time, created by the God of Darkness during humanity’s initial start/evolution. It earns its name as it can mimic the thundering sound of a pack of Beowolves on a pursuit or hunt, or “questing” to find their latest ill-mood victim. Some also say that discovering this beast in itself makes for a worthwhile quest because there are so few records of this beast’s sighting that not much is known about it. The only information of this Grimm can only be conducted by what encounters and witnesses have shared. With how little information there is of this Grimm, there is no accurate description other than it bears the resemblance of a head of a snake (or King Taijitu), the body of a leopard, haunches and mane of a lion (or Manticore), and the feet of a hart deer. Height is unsure, though the few sightings mention say it is as tall as an average Ursa standing on its hind legs. It was alleged that only two Questing Grimm had existed until a Huntsman had slayed one, causing the last Questing Grimm to be more elusive than ever. It is also alleged that there are actually multiple Questing Grimm all over Remnant since there are sightings from all over the world, but others counter that it’s a wandering beast since it is the only one of its kind. This causes people to believe that its name could also mean that this Grimm is on an unknown quest of its own in traveling all over Remnant. However, many people believe these to be fabrications. In fact, many people on Remnant, including professional Huntsmen, believe this creature is just a myth.

What makes this creature so mystifying, aside from what little information is known of this beast and its elusiveness, is what short encounters had shared about this beast. Some may that this creature can telepathically communicate with humans to deceive or madden them, whispering in a hissing voice or sometimes commanding in a voice akin to the booming roar of hounds. Other accounts say that this Grimm can turn invisible to explain why it’s so hard to find. Since all the stories vary, none can really confirm what this Grimm is capable of. So thus, the majority of folks only believe that the Grimm is simply a tale to teach its listeners to be wary of the sound of barking wolves and Beowolves in the wilds.

Anyway, hope y'all enjoy. This Inktober was pretty fun, but I'll definitely be doing something else for a future Inktober because Grimmtober was only just black, white, and reds. Like... I sometimes can't believe I thought Grimm was a good idea to draw for the whole month lol.

Not gonna lie, I'm kinda snickering since it looks like a giraffe-snake just pulled some black pants on or something lol. i'm satisfied with how it came out tho

It looks like a Chimera in reverse.

You're actually not the first to call the Questing Beast a chimera or notice the semblance. I think some people see the Questing Beast as a chimera or something related to one (like maybe a subspecies), but I don't really mind either way. I just refer to the beast by its name.
