I wasn't sure whether to put this in Designs or straight to Traditional, but you really can't physically make this.

In the first page of my new sketch book, I was doing a revised version of one of my characters. She wears this black and red dress with an intricate lace design on the bodice (most of the details were lost on the original, cos it was black on black... -_-; ), do I thought I'd do some sort of "study". It's a study that ended up going too far...
I had to buy the new 0.05 pen cos my 0.3 isn't fine enough... >_>

Starting from the flower, and the entire design extended outwards, in pencil first, then pen. The manga-ish eye was an afterthought, for the sake of making the page relevant to the year's unit (Manga!).

Although it can't be made, I still tried to make it somehow realistic! XD
The design is joined up by either the thicker threads, or the fine weaving/netting; I varied the closeness and the looseness of the weaving to suggest shading or darker areas. Naturally, the openings are represented by the blank space. Then lastly, the loose ends of fraying threads at the edging and eye.
