Yay! I finished it! And I was right when I said that Moltres would ruin the darn thing. TT_TT I mean, Moltres himself looks pretty good (I'm especially pleased with the wings :3) but the FIRE. It's HORRIBLE. DX I changed the color of the fire so many times that's it's not funny! I guess it looks better than it originally was when it was red, but still...That's the two things that avoid me whenever I try to make something look anime-ish. Fire, and cel-style shading. Something about it just doesn't look "right". And I don't know what it is. DX
But yeah. I'm pleased with Moltres overall. I had a tough time with his torso and legs, but I feel that the wings made up for some of it. I just LOVE those wings! <3
... Would anyone believe me if I took off my signature and told them this was an official freezeframe from something? XD

This is breathtakingly awesome, it's hard to get a good Moltres picture because of the flames, but you did them perfect!

I was taking a stroll around your gallery and was drawn to this one, I've seen it before but never commented.
You have gotten such harsh critique for this! 
If someone showed me this and told me it was a screenshot, I WOULD believe them. I mean, if it was one of my friends not an artist like you, I'd totally believe it was a screenshot. And the fire looks fine! So do the legs! I can't imagine how long this whole thing took... well, anyway, I like it.

Yeah, but I'm not too sure if that would work well with the anime-style look I'm going for, like it was a screenshot. Anime has black outlines. :/ But thank you for the suggestion!

Fire needs to have more contrast. Add lighter colors.

Actually, the fire IS on his wings. See, bird wings have multiple layers of feathers. For this, the first layer is regular feathers, and the second is fire ("fire feathers" perhaps? XD).

If I didn't know it was a pokemon then maybe. I dunno the neck/head look off. And so do the legs. But hey it's better than any bird I could draw! XD Maybe next time try making the body looking a bit more feathery? Right now I'm sorry to say but it reminds me of one of those frozen plucked chickens...

Umm maybe make it kinda like it had fur like a cat or dog? Basically make the little tuffs of feather a bit bigger I guess. And shade it so it doens't look so smooth as if it doens't have any feathers. It'll take a bit longer than your normal shading though I should know as I shade kinda like that. D:

Me neither. I mean, I wasn't too sure if I should allow critiques, since I honestly don't like poeple telling me what I've done wrong. But hey, I probably need it because I know you deal with TONS of hard critique in the prefessional world, and I probably need to toughen up about it some. :/

I generally ok if it's something pretty big but if it was tiny little details I don't really like it. I think the ones on anatomy etc are helpful though so I can change what I did for the future. Yeah I heard a lot about how harsh the crits are from pro world. D: It's part of the reason I don't pursue art as a career even though that would be fun if I suceeded. I could never take the super harsh crits and I draw for myself and also friends, but I have a hard time thinking of having to draw something someone else tells me to draw. <--Like if it was something I don't really like
