Wow this took me longer than I expected! Anyway my own Crystal Gem Spinel AU with its own tiny twist. In this Spinel’s are not just entertainers but body guards for elite Gems, There the only known gem type that change the position of there gem without poofing. As you can tell I love her canon design too much to change a lot of it.
Newly formed- Same thing as in canon, Spinel was given to Pink Diamond as a playmate.
After abandonment- Again like in canon she was left waiting for Pink in the garden however was found and brought to Earth by Rose Quartz.
Middle of gem war- The stress and grief of losing new friends in the war was what finally set Spinel’s “combat form” off and allowed her to use her gem weapon (not a rejuvenator)
After The gem war- Spinel fell into a kind of depression over the loss of so many companions, she stayed in her “combat form” out of desperation to protect the last of her friends.
Steven’s birth- When she finally met Steven something about him managed to let Spinel return to her “default form”. While she might be the positive thinker of the team, Spinel still harbors a lot of anger and sadness at herself for numerous reasons.
Season four onward- All the emotions she’s been bottling up are finally starting to become too much for her to handle, to the point that her “default form” and “combat form” start to look alike.
“Change your mind” onward- With the understanding that she doesn’t have to fight her battles alone, Spinel has grown up just as much as Steven has.
Beach outfit- Her outfit from the season one episode “Beach Party”
