I'm glad to hear it! it is much deserved. If you do decide to make a version with a black marker, you will put it on DA wont you? I'd love to see

Looking forward to it and that's ok, I haven't checked DA for a while anyway - been really busy working on my very first poseable dragon this last week!

Aww thank you so much I'm so happy you like him! I hope you make one someday - I'd love to see!
There isn't really a lot of advice available (not that I could find anyway!) from art doll makers, I guess they are considered trade secrets if it helps though:
I started with making a basic skeleton out of steel wire. Spine, front legs and back legs are attached using steel epoxy (which is amazing stuff!) then I sculpted a clay head and feet onto the armature and baked the whole thing in the oven.
Next I painted all the clay parts... and spent ages and ages looking for advice on how to add the fur! But didn't find much so I simply lay the dragon skeleton out spread-eagle style on some faux fur and traced a very rough outline around it with a pencil. I cut out one piece then traced around that and cut out another.
Then I spent a while looking up how to sew... since I probably haven't tried for 7+ years. Ladder stitching seems to be the best option of the ones I tried Sewed the two pieces sandwich style with the skeleton in the middle, padding it out with stuffing as I went.
Then a thorough brushing and hair cut later, I dyed parts of the mane and glued eyes into his sockets and felt to the bottom of his feet
Finito
I'm afraid I can't offer much help with colouring fur - I'm not happy with any method I've tried yet
But I hope this helped!
