Gods... did he really have to participate in this stupid event? August walked towards the dilapidated collosseum, Small Servant accompanying him as usual, and thought of the words Clover had spewed at him.

"If you don't get your stupid mean butt down there and have some fun, Molly and I are going to drag you out of this stupid, dank castle and MAKE you!"

He grimaced as he thought of the pushy treatling. For someone who was so short, she sure was intimidating. What was her problem? What did she care if he locked himself up in his castle and never came out? There were too many people here. It was easier to take someone by surprise, mess with them in his own kingdom, when there were just one or two. This kind of event... what was the point of interacting with this many people? And why did they all look so happy? For some reason it irritated him.

Lost in thought, he didn't notice the shouting neon treat until they shoved the microphone into his face. "HELLO CHALLENGER!! Are you looking forward to the EVENTS???!!" August balked in surprise. Without thinking, he heard himself saying,
"Heh, of course. I feel sorry for anyone who has to take up a challenge against me." He felt his usual smirk take its place, knew he gave off an air of smugness that covered up how he really felt. F*ck, what was he saying? Why did he always do this?

"Well, looks like we've got a challenger to keep an EYE on folks!!" The neon treat chattered on for a bit and then flew off to pester some other challengers. Augustine felt his stomach twisting. He wasn't even interested in the events and he'd just announced himself as a challenger. What was he doing? He walked himself towards the colosseum, hoping that he would be able to steel his nerves before he got there.
