There's a bunch to cover, and there’s going to be some writing snippets, so brace yourselves, this might get long
1. Quirk: Rori has a natural attraction to all things animal, partially because she’s a healer and partially because she has had such little experience with animals that they are all fascinating to her. She isn’t even afraid of insects or reptiles, and she has to be warned if they are potentially dangerous because she doesn’t have enough knowledge to know these things. She especially loves little fuzzy animals, so here she is with a bunch of puppies and loving the experience.
2. Quirk/Type of Smarts: Rori is a quick learner and very eager to learn all new things, sometimes a bit too eager in some cases. She had to learn how to ride in a very short amount of time in order to accompany Yokov on his journey, so she was given a horse that she immediately named Sparrow because the coloration reminded her of the sparrows in Sun Eye. Luckily, Sparrow is a very well behaved and even-tempered horse so she’s the perfect mount for an inexperienced rider.

They hadn’t gone very far down the road when Rori finally spoke up. “Yokov? How long will we be riding every day?”
“As long as we can, we do have a schedule to keep.” He looked over at the dark-haired woman riding beside him and managed not to chuckle at her expression. She was obviously realizing that riding for a long time was not as easy when you were using your legs to make the animal go the way you wanted. “Tired already?”
“No . . . maybe.” She looked sheepishly at him. “Riding Siglyn was easier.”
“I imagine so, since she knew exactly where to go. Alas, Siglyn cannot come with us so you will have to deal with a bit of soreness.” He shook his head in amusement, “But if you are to accompany me, I do not wish to hear any complaining about how far we are riding or how long it is taking. I know the terrain and I know where the good camping spots are so you will have to trust me to have us travel the correct amount. Luckily, the more you ride the easier it will get.”
“I promise I won’t complain at all.” She nodded firmly and looked determinedly down the road. “How fast can we travel?”
“As fast as the horses can manage, I do not imagine that we will be doing a lot of galloping though.”
“Can we gallop now?”
“I thought you were tired.”
The healer got a mischievous look, “Maybe, but I want to see what it’s like to go fast.” She suddenly kicked her horse hard and got the mare into a gallop.
“RORI! WAIT!” Yokov had sudden, horrific images of the Healer falling off her horse. She didn’t have legs that were strong enough to keep her from bouncing violently. He urged his horse into a run to try and catch her and slow her down before she slid off.
Thankfully, in Yokov’s mind anyway, Rori’s horse was not in the mood to get into a long full speed gallop and slowed down after a short run. Rori, however, looked elated at the speed she had managed to reach and beamed widely at Yokov when he finally caught up with her. She giggled when he looked at her with concern, “That was so FUN!” Her eyes were twinkling and Yokov suddenly realized that keeping the Lady Healer safe was going to be even more of a challenge than he thought.
“You need to work on your leg strength.” He knew scolding her wouldn’t do anything, besides he had never told her not to go faster. He just didn’t think she would feel comfortable at that speed, he certainly wasn’t comfortable watching her go that fast. “Shall we go back now?”
She grinned back at him in delight, “Yes, I think so.” She turned her horse around slowly then managed to get the mare into another gallop with an absolute squeal of girlish delight. This time the mare must have known they were heading back to the stable and was just as eager to speed up.
Yokov groaned and got his horse into a gallop to catch up to the two speeding females. This was not the way he was hoping this would go, though he supposed he should be glad that Rori wasn’t some shrinking violet. However, it certainly wasn’t going to make the journey an easy one if he had to make sure she didn’t do anything reckless.
3. Sense of Humor: Rori finds dirty jokes and ribald humor the most hilarious thing in the world. In this picture Yokov is singing some truly questionable drinking songs while they’re traveling and Rori can’t stop laughing. Yokov has quite the library of bawdy songs that he’s learned over the years and enjoys singing them to make Rori laugh, although he normally sings them when drunk in a pub. His songs are raunchy enough to make even a centaur blush, but Rori loves them all.
He cleared his throat again, “The only other ones I know are very VERY naughty and I do not sing them unless I am drunk and in company that will probably not understand them.” He chuckled. {It was my way of getting away with something that I knew was forbidden and no one would know it due to the language.}
“I very much doubt you could sing anything that would scandalize me.” She smirked at him. “Go on, try. Sing your worst. I’ll probably love it if you’re singing it.”
“All right. You have been warned.” He paused briefly, trying to recall the full lyrics to one of the more questionable ditties he sang while full of ale. Yokov took a deep breath and started in on a song about a woman with four breasts and many lovers and her numerous adventures, singing it the way it was intended. Loud and enthusiastically.
********
While they were setting up camp Yokov could have sworn he heard Rori humming one of the songs he sang for her. It made him laugh under his breath when he recognized it because it wasn’t the lullaby. To her credit, she wasn’t at all offended or scandalized, merely amused that he knew so many songs about questionable topics. She had laughed heartily at all the songs and when he told her that the first song had made their large centaur friend, Reidalv, blush, she was overcome with giggles. Rori was very impressed that Yokov managed to embarrass a centaur, given the different types of curses they used on a regular basis. When Yokov had run out of songs, she had shared some of the centaur curses with him and the ride had been full of laughter as they both tried to sort some of them out, especially due to some of the physical references.
4. Sleeping Habits: Rori finds that after she and Yokov have a serious relationship that she simply can’t sleep without him, so this is her favorite way of sleeping.
“Why are you here though, and not with Yokov?”
“Because I promised him that I would keep an eye on you. His exact words were, ‘I am in this nice safe cell while my wife is out and about alone with the centaurs. Worry about her, Vergard, not me.’. So, I am going to keep most of my focus on you while Swift watches Yokov.” Vergard patted Rori’s shoulder. “You may not see me most of the time but know that I am around and alert.”
Rori sighed and then hugged Vergard tightly. “I am going to miss him tonight; I don’t know if I’ll be able to sleep alone.”
“. . . I’m not going to sleep with you, that would be . . . awkward.”
Rori looked at him like she was scandalized that he would even think of such a thing, pushing him away with a sudden laugh, “I wasn’t asking you to. I was just stating a fact.”
*********
When the kiss was over, Rori grinned, her eyes full of tears as she answered, “Yes. I’m here with you. Never do that again, Yokov Dell!” She squeezed him around his neck so tightly that she heard him make a choking sound. She loosened her grip but didn’t let go. “Never surrender yourself and get yourself arrested and leave me alone! I hate sleeping alone.”
5. Eating/cooking Habits: Rori is still learning how to do things for herself, but she insists upon it in most cases, which usually has mixed results. Luckily Yokov is more than willing to do the cooking and make sure that she doesn’t starve from her lack of ability. She’s willing to eat anything offered, she’s not a picky eater and she doesn’t really have any particular favorite foods.
She got their clothing packs to use as pillows and started getting things neatly ready for Yokov to cook dinner. She still didn’t have the knack of cooking, but Yokov didn’t seem to mind. That was another reason to keep him, any other man would be expecting her to do all of the domestic chores. Yokov’s easy way of finding what each of them was capable of doing and distributing the work in a way that was fair was one of his many unheralded talents.
By the time Yokov joined her at the fire, Rori was on the sleep roll and smiling. He looked at the item she was lounging on and raised an eyebrow, “Well, that is unexpected. I did not know that they made those big enough for three people.”
Rori giggled, “It’s really soft too, but it folds up small.” She had changed into what she was going to sleep in, happy to be out of the sweaty leather.
Yokov poked at it, “Seems to be stuffed with feathers of some sort. Interesting. That will keep us warm as well, it has been getting colder at night.” He crouched down and started working on their dinner, “I see you did everything but cook it, hmm?”
She looked sheepish, “Probably safer if you cook it. I’d rather not eat burnt and raw food.”
“Aye, especially when it is simultaneously burnt and raw.” He winked at her. “No worries, I can manage.”
“I’ll figure it out eventually, it’s not like I’ve had a lot of practice.” She pouted at him dramatically.
“Aye, you will. I have no doubt about that. You are a quick learner, Rori.”
6. Quirk: Despite Yokov’s insistence that she doesn’t have to be “domestic”, Rori is determined to learn several domestic types of things. One thing she starts after they’re married is knitting, which Oriane teaches her. Although she’s not very good at it she powers through and does her best, finding it a good way to keep herself busy when there’s nothing else to do.
She held up the knitting she’d been working on.
Yokov cocked his head as he looked at the jumble of unmatched knots. Not very much like the items Lady Oriane Radbourne made. “What is it?”
Rori sighed in frustration, “It’s supposed to be a scarf. I’m still not very good.”
Yokov got off the bed and embraced his wife from behind, “Practice will improve it. Just keep working at it if you enjoy it. But remember, you do not have to do such things if you do not enjoy them.” He kissed her cheek. “Even if it is not perfect, it is wonderful because you have made it.”
7. Team Role: Rori’s role as a healer is “support”. She not only is she there to make sure everyone is healthy and to fix wounds, but when she is traveling with the centaur herd she learns how to help with the births and care of newborn centaurs. She finds baby centaurs absolutely adorable and is more than happy to help.
Rori was becoming more and more comfortable with the herd as well, to the point where she was spending a good amount of time with the healers while he was dealing with the job of ambassador between the centaurs and any humans that they came across. She had come back one afternoon to have lunch with Yokov and told him how she helped with the birth of a baby centaur. Yokov had chuckled at how delighted she had been at the whole situation. Rori had a definite attraction to babies, and it was amusing to watch her speak of the cuteness, her eyes glittering and squinched up due to her huge face encompassing grin.
