Edward's canvas is about 20 inches square. I worked on it two non-consecutive weekends, and it took me a little longer than listening to La Boheme [with Pavarotti], 120 min, and Il Barbiere Di Siviglia, 158 min. I had just gotten into opera and they are both appropriate to Edward, or it felt so at the time because Boheme is a tragic love story and the Barber is a comic love story. I started painting the canvas black and moved up from there [ended up using a lot of white, but I like the effect better than white canvas showing through; anyway, I was reusing the canvas, going over a squiggly dragon I didn't really like anymore [and didn't really like when I finished] so it was easier to prime with black anyway.

not enough people do that. I like hearing about everyone's art so much.
Opera really does fit Edward well! but so does the music Danny Elfman provided for the movie. I have the soundtrack and whenever I draw Edward, that's what I listen to.

I have that too! I just didn't have it then . I decided not to listen to the movie though, because I was just painting one moment of it. I haven't actually done any other edward artworks. I haven't felt the need to. I might do a Sam painting though, from Benny and June. That movie reminds me of Edward Scissorhands, full of disfunctional unusual people, but it has a happy ending.

I love the first eight songs of the soundtrack - the eighth one is my favorite, it's the track with the cookie scene.
My stepdad told me about Benny and June. I haven't seen it though, even though I'm an extremely big fan of Johnny Depp's. I also want to see the one where he's a drag queen LOL >.>"
So Johnny plays a crazy character in this movie? xD

when is Depp someone not crazy or slightly unhinged in a move? I love the cookie factory music too. I also am fond of the suburbia suite, since I live in suburbia and the houses actually are the same. I don't know about the movie where he's a drag queen.
