Description hahahaha....I couldn't think of a title :L

I've been working on this for ages, since I got DragonGirl's new 'proper' design sorted I'd wanted to show her off a bit and challenge myself.
kind of a redraw of this ancient thing as well...sta.sh/014vkdic408f ewwwww xD

So crazily tried the back-lighting of flames and a bit of perspective and twisted, slightly more unusual anatomy/pose.
I find it so difficult to draw flames with pencils, if anyone knows any good tips or tutorials (seriously I've been looking everywhere...) for drawing flames/fire I'd be eternally grateful

have to say, it may not be perfect, but I am really really proud of this C:
and I love drawing DG, you'll be expecting a lot more of her in the future. Constantly working on her and evolving my concepts.

All done in Derwent pencils.

I'm always looking to improve so would appreciate constructive critiques and criticism!

Wow she looks so awesome in action^^

And the shading you did is superb!

The only thing I noticed that seems a bit off are her legs

They make it seem like she's standing a bit awkwardly

besides that, you've done everything else perfectly

:'D

Thank you so much Kassie!Β

I was having real trouble with the lighting because I decided to go for the uber annoying fire behind her light source haha xD

so I'm glad it looks ok ^^

yeah, those were what I had most trouble with on the whole apart from the lighting :/

I tried to photograph the stance and act it out myself, but I think I may have twisted the bottom part in the wrong direction of what the knee is showing on the closer leg :/

(lol I've just got a scene of her now attempting to act all cool then falling over xD Β ...I might put that in the graphic novel as a little extra lol )

thanks for your insight Kassie :3

X3Β

Again you're ever so welcome!

I think you've also improved quite a lot with your fire

Hmmm....well you gave it your best shot and that's all that matters no?

We constantly learn from our mistakes, so don't fuss over it too much

(Lol, epic fail scene much?

thanks! ^^

its such a bloody pain to draw, and I can't seem to find any sort of examples or tutorials of how to draw fire well in pencil... which is frustrating because mine always looks so static and flat XD

I guess... x3

you're right, as always.....but it still bugs me

haha xD

(omg yes xD )

Hi Dragon Girl

I am not the artist but the writer. It's hard to post scripts here, so I post work by my teams. I always give them credit in the images.

Thanks for liking my stuff.

Keep at it and it will happen.

Very nicly done. I enjoy the background. Β Overall really great~!
I'm not a great artist or anything but a few aeras I noticed were...
1) The crotch, seem like a pot belly or bloated stomach.
2) the right knee/leg just looks a little off from the way the knee is pointing and where the leg is leaving from the hip.

Aside that I love the face and hair. great highlights and detail on them as well as the armour. great depth.
Keep it up!

Thank you very much ^^

and thank you so much for the feedback! usually people don't give any criticisms, and they're so useful for improving!

1). I see what you mean, I hadn't noticed that before :/Β

I had a lot of trouble with her bottom half and her legs.Β

But I can see it looks too rounded like you said :/

2). yeah, I knew the legs were a problem area, I wanted to do the twisted anatomy/pose but couldn't seem to work out how it Β flowed together. I redrew them so many times, I'd been trying to 'act' it out myself.Β

But I can see the knee looks twisted in the wrong direction/angle. :/

Thank you for the help! I'm constantly trying to work on my art, so I'm hoping with more practice I'll improve ^^
