Finishing this up with the Moon Spirit Pokemon, Orcaracle!

For this design I wanted to focus on a more priest/priestess-oriented appearance, while still maintaining the fact that this is a dolphin. I additionally looked into Japanese-styled clothing, notably shrine maiden attire and kimonos which can vaguely be seen with Orcaracle's elongated frontal fins for inspiration. To conclude the theme set by its previous forms, Orcaracle's based on the full moon phase (both its tail fin and collar represent this).

Orcaracle fears nothing in the darkness (save Ghost-types). Black Hole completely removes this fear and instead turns the tables on its former foes with a powered up SP.ATK. How will you retaliate? Fairy-type moves? Water STAB? Your pick. Also exclusive to Orcaracle (and some select Water-type legendaries), is the powerful upgrade to Surf, Tsunami. Increased power, and the chance to hit even aerial targets! A great middle ground for the powerful Hydro Pump. Ah, and lets not forget to make use of the moon as well. Recover with Moonlight, or destroy the darkness with Moonblast! If you'd prefer to forgo regaining your Dark-type weakness, you still have a fair trade off when it comes to abilities. Turn the calm waters you normally bring back into a storm with Drizzle! Rid your team of irritating status and entry hazards with Magic Bounce! When you're sailing the battlefield with Orcaracle, your safety (and victory) is assured!

This Fakemon evolutionary line has got to be one of my favorites from you. It perfectly captures the Moon's influence on the ocean, without forgetting the kind of mystical power that the Moon has also been associated with across the ages.

It's funny, but for a team I have at least this guy, the grass psychic type, and the fire starter. Half a team of psychics. Might as well be a sychic gym leader now.

What a weird concept for a dolphin, but I like!

It's disappointing that GF hasn't tapped into the animal kingdom deep enough at this point.

I'm confused the this Pokemon seems more bulky to me, Not to mention it being water type. But speed seem a bit much?
I know you already made it and all and have the stats and even if you like it how it is I'll share my opinion

110/50/100/115/100/65 = 535

Makes more sense especially with all of those weaknesses Electric, Grass, Bug, Ghost, and Dark all being fairly common (Electric mostly) however it does have decent resistances to many Common types too. 5/6 of those type are on every team!

If we can't have an official dolphin-based Pokémon, then I guess this will have to suffice. Awesome job!

If I had one of these I would probably make sure to have a Female and name it Diana after the Moon Goddess. Also, this thing has so much good abilities: Magic Bounce reflects Stealth Rock, Spikes, Toxic etc., Black Hole removes one of  its weaknesses and transforms it into an immunity and as a nice bonus if you get hit by it you raise your Sp. Attack and last but definitely not least Drizzle of course is an amazing ability. If only it wasn't nerfed in Gen VI...

Yet another really impressive Water Type to have.

Modest Nature
128 EVs in HP and Speed, 252 in Special Attack
Black Hole for the Ability
Scald (or Tsunami), Psychic (or Psyshock), Moonblast, and Moonlight for the moves
Leftovers or maybe even a Pixie Plate for the Item

Not really much else to say for this special dolphin. Definitely another one I'd use on my team.

This thing would be a competitive monster with three very viable Abilities like these. o-o Pretty respectable bulk, too. I'm guessing it gets Calm Mind via TM, so... Similar to Suicune/Slowbro sets, only doesn't need the Rest/Sleep Talk/single STAB combo thanks to Moonlight... Whoa. o-o

SerpensVolucer [2014-09-09 14:45:47 +0000 UTC]

I'd rather change the ability name, since "Black Hole" doesen't exactly fit it in my opinion. Black Hole should be an ability that draws in Fairy type moves( Whitch I Suggest giving to Diabelon). What about something like Enlightment?
Although it's quite a solid pokemon I must say. The idea, the design, the competitive values... Why didn't you asked for a job in Game Freak yet?

Dragonith In reply to SerpensVolucer [2014-09-10 06:14:11 +0000 UTC]

Eh, I think its fine. If I were to think of a Fairy drawing ability I'd name it something else.

Really nice job on the design!

I do feel like the stat spread is really unbalanced, though. How about 110/50/70/130/80/95 = 530? This still gives it really high power, while having somewhat more bulk and a Speed tier that wouldn't make it completely invincible when Scarfed.

Apart from being influenced by the moon, nothing really.

Stookam In reply to Dragonith [2014-09-10 00:20:35 +0000 UTC]

Ah. Because, at least to me, Cresslia has always kind of looked like a pink, floaty mix between a dolphin and Lapras, so I thought that two psychic-type, marine-animal-looking, moon-oriented Pokemon would have some kind of link.

140 Hp
40 Attack
40 Defense
140 Special Attack
70 Special Defense
100 Speed
Total: 530

Made to be slightly frail defensive wise, with a high hp and special attack. Has decent speed and usable special defense.

I have a question about the ability? Does it work to where it only absorbs dark type attacks it is attacked with? Or could it be used to protect a teammate too in a double battle?

If the last of the two is the correct case it should be the hidden ability.
