Well, supposedly homosexuality was a more common practice back then. Or at least, folks were more open and accepting. I don't know that side of Greek history as well, but eh, it isn't surprising.

And thanks. That one was hard to do in such a short time frame, but I think for a quicky the anatomy is decent.

Yeah I've heard about it being more common then. I think it was encouraged even, at least among soldiers. The idea being that they would fight harder with their lovers there on the battlefield, wanting to protect them and all.

Yeah. Also, supposedly older men were expected to teach younger men the 'art of lovemaking'. THey both make sense...

Interesting. . . talking about homosexuality in a historical context like this somehow makes me think of the idea of Black History month. I wonder who's idea that was, because it seems likely that some old white dude thought it up as just another "Hey look! We're all happy and no longer racist!" kind of thing. Maybe I'm just being cynical. . .

Anyway, I got to this black history month thing because I was thinking that the civil rights movement has a headstart on the gay rights movement. It makes me wonder if there might not be something like history of homosexuality month in the future. It seems like kind of an odd idea maybe, but why not? Despite on being a race and another a sexual orientation, blacks and gays are both groups of people that have been heavily discrimintated against; people that have had to fight for equality. Well, probably nothing exactly like that would happen since they aren't really the same. . . what am I doing here anyway? This is a comment not a speech
