I like both of them I've seen, but I like this one better...it's the colors! No, I think it's also the pose...it's something grand anyway!

From what I can see, it looks quite nice!
But the image is so tiny, and the dA watermark so large and obtrusive, that it's truly difficult to read.
I recommend you upload it at a larger size (900 px across at 72 dpi is pretty good).

Thanks!
And for the advice. My new stuff has a smaller watermark on it that i use, and im working on getting it less obtrusive, but still not be able to easily clone it out, which, i know if someone is persistent enough, they'll still do it. i post my work in like 5 different galleries, myspace, facebook, and my own website, so i gotta be careful
Thanks! I will work on making the image bigger, i think thats a good idea

Yeah, that is a worry when you try for exposure on the internet. If only we didn't have to worry. :\
If you can design one, making your own watermark is probably best. It's wonderful that dA gives you the option of just overlaying theirs if you can't, but it's a pretty huge and inconvenient. Would love to get a better look at what you've made!
If you need any advice about image sizing, I'm more than happy to help!

Its nothing special, just the (c), my full name and the year, set over the top, transparent. im alot more lax then i was in the beginning and have shrunk it with the last batch of images. lol i have been working on a logo for years, but im not happy with any of them.

I know what you mean, designing a logo you're 100% happy to have represent your work and yourself is incredibly tricky. Inevitably, by the time you've finished and tweaked the image, you've already improved in style and technique. At least, that's how it's always gone for me.
Just a name and pertinent info works fine. My problem with the dA watermark is that it's so large, and the coding centers it automatically. A watermark should be designed to disrupt the image plane just enough that it's impossible to cut out without destroying the image and rendering it uninteresting--it shouldn't complete obscure it. Kind of defeats the purpose of posting lovely artwork online for everyone to enjoy!

That Ill totally agree with ya! I really didn't even remember how large it was, since that's an older piece. Still on of my more popular ones though, i tend to sell out at most of my shows

And the Logo...Amen! I think i have been though 3 or 4! Drives me nuts. I just need to get a friend to do one for me, lest that i wont have so much "Involved" with it...if that makes any sense

actually so am i. ive been noticing a lot of focus on furry and feathered dragons lately, maybe thats the current craze lol? no matter, its better to have an adorable creation that few have, than have something everyone has in their collection >.> ive recently been cutting down how many favorites i add for this reason, tired of seeing all the same stuff.

I have noticed that too, there's some awesome feathered dragons coming out right now, But i agree, alot of it is the same. When i made the push onto the professional market Fairies were hitting it big, and all i heard was that i should do fairies to get onto the market, then swing back to dragons. I always felt more connected to dragons, and thats what i do. They may not be as popular as fairies right now, but they were be here very soon

Thats just it, i think an artist should create their art from the soul and not feel obliged to force themselves into something just because its popular. When i draw i draw much for the enjoyment of it, and i feel that element is a very important part of art in general. Without it, ive noticed over time some artists just become dull and they lose what it was they had to begin with as they become so used to doing what everyone wants they lose their spark. Then again ive seen some go for years doing it.

And personally, i dont think dragons will ever die. They have fascinated generations upon generations. Yes granted, so have faeries, but as long as no one discovers one they will remain something to be treasured. I know i for one will never forget nor sway away from dragons. Faeries are nice, but they lack the majesty a dragon has.
