I don't have any good pics, just a pic of the hilt in my gallery somewhere. I used a few strips of plywood, wood glue, and leathef for the pummel cover when I did it. And lots of sanding.

I don't have any good pics, just a shot of the hilt that I never finised somewhere in my gallery. I started using a few thin strips if plywood, wood glued and clamped, and leather for the pummel cover when I did it. And lots of sanding.

How do you sit properly in a hoop skirt?!?

DragonLadyCels In reply to GingersPeach [2009-08-04 12:03:09 +0000 UTC]
The tier's collapse into each other, and then it's just like trying to sit with a hula hoop. You can move closer to the edge of the hoop and tilt the skirt downward to sit.

I don't think the designer of the hoop skirt even knew what a car was. (Carriages were way more spacious, like benches inside)
I just take mine off in a car, since I'm wearing pantaloons underneath it.

Yeah my sister suggested wearing shorts while in the car and put the hoop skirt on at the con. Thanks for the info!

well its true! Im so jealous of that costume. I'm watching that anime right now and I LOVE it. I liked the blue fabric you used rather than the blue fabric they have on the costumes on Ebay. It just looks more accurate to me. ^^

Very, very well done. To think that you've made your own costume based on that someone in an anime wears, you've turned fiction into reality, in some way.
Congratulations, and my compliments on the work.
-According to Plato, artforms like paintings and anime are reflections of life. Life is a reflection also, of the dreamworld, that which everything came from. Then your work is a reflection of a reflection's reflection, so it must be extroadinary.
But having said this probably doesn't serve any purpose other than making a fool out of myself by saying unneccesary things, ending in being ridiculed by others...

I don't think anime existed during Plato's time, but I get your point ^^ Thanks for the complements.

Ah, there, you see? I knew I said something stupid. I just didn't see the mistake that I implied that anime existed in Plato's time. Although there existed a form of art from which anime originated from back then, even far before then. The old Japanese painting and drawing, which you must've seen somewhere before. Cosplay has it's roots in Japan as well, no?

By any chance did you wear this for Expo 2007, at the Long Beach Convention Center?

Ah man I would have loved to seen you in person here on the west coast.
I take it Anime Boston is main attraction on the East Coast?
For us anime fans, Anime Expo is the main attraction on the West Coast.

What i like about her is that she's a master of swordsmanship.
She's a Knight of Honor, but she can be stuborn, as well as dense about modern life. But that doesn't supprise me since she's from the middle ages.
